Two brothers who threatened to stop cooperating with prosecutors in the case against actor Jussie Smollett have changed their mind. In a statement issued Thursday, an attorney representing Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, said that two who have admitted to helping Smollett stage a racist and homophobic attack against the Black are ready to testify because a gun that went missing after police found it in their home had been found. Smollet is charged with lying to police about the “attack” that authorities say the actor staged to gain publicity for his career. The actor has maintained his innocence.Smollett's charges were filed by special prosecutor Dan Webb, who was appointed to the case after Smollett originally had his charges dropped by the Cook County State’s Attorney Office .The prosecutor's announcement of dropping the charges last year drew ire from Chicago Police and outgoing Mayor Rahm Emanuel.Smollett allegedly filled a false police report, when he told officers that two attackers shouted racial and homophobic slurs at him.The Osundairos were originally arrested for the alleged attack, but were later cleared of charges after police claimed that Smollett paid the men to stage the attack. 1222

U.S. and Chinese trade envoys discussed strengthening coordination of their countries’ economic policies during a phone meeting Tuesday, the Ministry of Commerce announced.The announcement gave no details of the meeting held as part of the “Phase 1” truce aimed at ending a tariff war between the two biggest global economies that has disrupted worldwide trade.President Xi Jinping’s government has lobbied Washington since at least 2016 to coordinate macroeconomic policies. Two days after President Donald Trump told the right-wing hate group Proud Boys to “stand back and stand by” when asked to denounce white supremacists, his lack of a clear denouncement is still making news.His spokesperson, Kayleigh McEnany, in her first briefing to reporters since Tuesday’s debate, also seemed to avoid a direct statement condemning these groups.John Roberts, a reporter from Fox News, asked McEnany, “I’d like to ask you for a definitive and declarative statement, without ambiguity or deflection, as the person who speaks for the president, does the president denounce white supremacism and groups that espouse it in all its forms?”She responded that the president has answered the question already. She then read past statements from President Trump dating from 2017, 2018 and in 2019 in which he stated “in one voice our nation must condemn racism, bigotry, and white supremacy.”Roberts pressed McEnany, “Just to clear it up this morning, can you, naming it, can you make a declarative statement that the president denounces it.”“The president has denounced white supremacy, the KKK and hate groups in all forms,” McEnany responded, eluding to previous statements from the president and offering to email them to Roberts.During Tuesday’s presidential debate, moderator Chris Wallace asked the president if he would denounce white supremacists and hate groups. Uber has announced a new subscription service to help customers avoid price surging.Titled "Ride Pass", the new service is only available in five U.S. cities at the moment.According to the BBC, the service costs .99 a month in Los Angeles and .99 in Austin, Denver, Miami and Orlando. VALLEY CENTER, Calif. -- An 18-year-old motorcyclist was killed after a head-on crash with a sedan in Valley Center Saturday.The crash happened around 3:30 p.m. Saturday on Mac Tan Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.Officers say the 18-year-old was riding his motorcycle at a high speed when he came to a bend, lost control of the bike and slid into the opposing lane of traffic.The teen was the struck by 2004 Kia Spectra, CHP say.The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital where he later died. The driver of the sedan was uninjured.Officers say driving under the influence hasn’t been ruled out as a possible factor in the crash. 653
