BEIJING, April 25 (Xinhua) -- Southwestern Sichuan Province is making every effort to carry out rescue and relief work in the quake-hit region, and prepare for the post-quake reconstruction, local authorities said at a press conference here Thursday.
During the inspections, Wang toured food and drug enterprises in Jinan and Nanjing, the capitals of the two provinces, to collect ideas from local governments, companies, research institutes, industrial associations and rural cooperatives.
Medical institutions, commercial outlets and schools should be reopened quickly and post-quake reconstruction will be launched at an appropriate time, it said.
As an emergency medical support platform, the ship is independently designed and built by China. Its tasks include treatment and evacuation of injured and sick personnel on the sea and medical support for troops stationed at islands and atolls.
"Although the virus has not been found to have been transmitted to areas outside of the Chinese mainland, we reported the situation to the WHO in a timely manner," said Shu Yuelong, an official with the CCDCP.
