Pope Francis has removed Bishop Martin Holley of Memphis, Tennessee, the Vatican announced on Wednesday.Archbishop Joseph Kurtz of Louisville will run the diocese in Holley's absence, the Vatican said.In a statement, the Diocese of Memphis said Holley's removal follows an "apostolic visitation" -- churchspeak for a Vatican-led investigation -- in June 2018. A business owner says his Poway office has been repeatedly burglarized by a thief who steals plants, among other things.The man snatched succulents and pilfered a large plumeria in his latest visit to the Poway business on Adrian Street near Midland Road on Wednesday around 11:30 p.m., according to owner Tom Belway.The grab-and-go gardener also disabled a surveillance camera and removed sensor lights, he said."This is the sixth or seventh time they have swept the property for any 'loose' items," Belway wrote on social media. "Previously they stole propane tanks, rocking chairs, construction materials and plants. One visit they had all of our outdoor furniture staged at the fence but they must have been interrupted."Down the street at the Park Church on Midland Road, pastor Andrew Henneforth said his church has been hit twice over the past two weeks.He said in the first incident, someone broke into a camper trailer and stole landscaping equipment and propane tanks.The second time, the thief hopped a fence and took a bicycle. There was a skateboard and drugs left behind, the pastor said."In this situation, am I a victim? Sure," Henneforth said. "But in some ways he's kind of a victim as well -- to addiction, to substance abuse."The church added security cameras after the second incident, he said.It's not clear if the two cases are related. (CNS) - Customs and Border Protection officers found 560 pounds of methamphetamine and cocaine, worth nearly million, cemented inside several quartz boulders at a cargo crossing at the Tecate Port of Entry near Potrero, the agency reported Wednesday.Officers broke open the boulders around 10:45 a.m. Monday after a big rig driver arrived at the border crossing with a shipment listed as "multiple tons of beach pebbles and stones," according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials.Cemented inside the quartz boulders, officers found 229 packages wrapped in black electrical tape, officials said. The packages included 337 pounds of methamphetamine and 223 pounds of cocaine, worth a combined estimated street value of roughly .9 million.Officers seized the big rig, the drugs and the rock shipment."Hard to believe, but this isn't the first time CBP officers in California have had to actually break open rocks or other items to get at the narcotics that drug trafficking organizations have hidden inside," Jose Haro, officer in charge of the Tecate Port of Entry, said in a news release.
