SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's Department says deputies arrested a wanted man on Sunday who was openly carrying a loaded rifle in the East County.Lakeside deputies were called after witnesses reported a man walking around with a loaded M4 rifle around his chest, according to the department. Deputies responded and took the man and his weapon into custody. SDSO said the man was a wanted parolee and that he had a felony warrant stemming from a case involving an assault with a deadly weapon.It is also illegal for a convicted felon to be in possession of a firearm in California, the department added.The parolee's identity was not released. 658

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - San Diego Police searched Tuesday for the man who may have groped several women in the South Bay.The most recent encounter happened Sunday at 7:30 p.m. as the woman was walking on Iris Ave. and Oro Vista Rd. in Nestor, police said.A man walking the opposite direction grabbed the woman’s breast, then ran away.The woman wasn’t hurt and told police the man didn’t appear to have a weapon.Police said the man was Hispanic, in his early 20’s, 5’6” tall with a heavy build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, black athletic shorts, and black shoes.The man may be responsible for two similar attacks in the same area, said officers.The first incident happened October 30 at 7:30 pm. and the second was January 17 at 9:30 p.m., both on Oro Vista Rd. near the I-5 and 905 interchange.Anyone with information is asked to call the San Diego Police Department at 619-531-2000. 916

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Some parents in Poway are teaming up to help their kids when the school year begins with virtual learning in a few weeks.In the spring, when Ellie, 6, and her brother Ethan, 7, were learning Spanish while distance learning, their father, a college professor, and mother, a lawyer, were working from home."I had my daughter to my left. I had my computer in the middle, and my son at my right. No sharing of food. They'll be washing their hands a lot," said Testa.Testa says it may not be realistic to keep kids at that age from interacting from each other. It's a gap the nonprofit lender Accion has been working to fill for the last 25 years. "Sometimes thinking about getting a loan can be scary, and I think one of the things we really try to do through our process with our staff is really walk alongside that business owner," said Elizabeth Shott, CEO of Accion. Since they began in 1994, Accion has loaned million to roughly 3,100 small businesses."We're teaching them about their credit, about their finance, and their cash flow. So through the loan process they're getting a lot of one-on-one education from our staff team," said Shott.On Accion's website, you can apply for a loan as well as learn about free resources available in San Diego.
