(KGTV) - The Santee School District recently sent robocalls to parents with children at Cajon Park Elementary, alerting them to a possible child luring incident.A mother from the school detailed an incident on her Facebook page, reporting her 11-year-old son was approached by a couple at Woodglen Vista Park asking him to help catch their dogs.The woman then asked the boy to go to the dog park with them. The boy ran home and told his mother.The woman was described as in her 40s with blonde hair. The man is described as 60 years old with gray hair.The San Diego Sheriff's Department has not received any reports on the mother's post.Cajon Park Elementary officials told 10News they plan to follow up with the Sheriff's Department Wednesday morning. 840

UPDATE: The teens were safely reunited with their families.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Police are searching for two missing teenagers last seen Tuesday at Hoover High School in City Heights.Jonathan Vergara and Brittany Gandara, both 14, were reported on campus at 2:30 pm.The teens’ parents indicated the children are dating.Gandara is 4’8” and weighs 90 pounds.  She was last seen wearing a black and white checkered zipper hoodie, maroon sneakers, black jeans or black gym shorts, and a maroon backpack.If you have any information, call San Diego Police. 566

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders' son is running for Congress in New Hampshire.Levi Sanders, 48, said in a statement first reported by WMUR and since posted on his campaign website that he is entering the open-seat race to replace retiring Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter."This is a unique opportunity to listen to the hard working men and women of New Hampshire about the issues that matter to them," he said.The New Hampshire 1st District is one of the nation's most competitive open-seat races in 2018's midterms.Unlike his father, who ran as an independent in Vermont, Sanders is running as a Democrat. He'll be the eighth Democratic candidate to enter the race.Sanders lives in Claremont, New Hampshire, which is outside the 1st District. VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) - One person is dead after a car crash left a vehicle nearly split in the North County at 1:50 a.m. Saturday morning.The crash occurred on Old Castle Road at Gordon Hill Rd. Police found the vehicle nearly split by a tree. The teenage driver was taken to a nearby hospital but died.Police did not name the driver but said he was 20-years-old from Oceanside.A teen passenger in the vehicle also suffered minor injuries but is expected to recover.Investigators said they believe speed played a factor in the crash and the vehicle may have been racing. 616

UPDATE August 25, 5:23 P.M.: The City of El Cajon told 10News Tuesday that the city has always allowed the public to use its public spaces within parks without a permit. The city also said it has extended the stance to commercial uses.SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Amid new COVID-19 restrictions, some local churches and gyms are expected to begin using San Diego's parks to conduct operations outside beginning Monday morning.City Councilman Chris Cate proposed the idea in mid-July, and the San Diego County Board of Supervisors approved a similar ordinance for county parks on Aug. 5.The ordinance means the City of San Diego's more than 300 parks, 26 miles of shoreline, and 57 recreation centers could be used for gyms, fitness classes, and worship services, however social distancing and face coverings are still encouraged.The ordinance defers park permit fees for 60 days. Mayor Kevin Faulconer will bring an ordinance to the council once it is back in session in September to make the waiving of fees permanent.This latest move is Faulconer's third executive order allowing for some businesses to operate outside.Previously, he had allowed for some retail and restaurants, and subsequently for gyms, barbershops, hair salons, and massage businesses to expand to sidewalks and private parking lots.In Poway, officials approved a plan to share park space with places of worship and fitness centers. 1404
