NEW YORK (AP) — A person is in custody in connection with the killing of a 33-year-old tech entrepreneur found dismembered inside his luxury Manhattan condo. A law enforcement official said Friday the person in custody has been Fahim Saleh's personal assistant. Saleh was found dead in a gruesome scene Tuesday afternoon inside his apartment on the Lower East Side. Saleh was the CEO of a ride-hailing motorcycle startup called Gokada that began operating in Nigeria in 2018. New data on the number of children in America who have contracted the coronavirus shows kids now make up 11 percent of the total number of positive cases.According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, between October 8 and 22, more than 94,500 children tested positive for the coronavirus in states that report cases by age. This is a 14 percent increase over two weeks.The AAP says this brings the total number of children in American who have tested positive to more than 792,000, which is 11 percent of the more than 7.2 million people in this country who have tested positive since the pandemic began.In the previous period in late September, children cases made up 10.7 percent of total coronavirus cases in America.The states with a high percent increase in coronavirus cases among children are the same that are seeing spikes in total coronavirus cases; including Utah, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, New Hampshire, New Mexico and Wisconsin. The definition of “child” ranges from 0-14 years old in some states, to 0-20 years old in others, so the AAP’s data represents a range of ages.States are still reporting low to very low numbers of child hospitalizations and deaths from the coronavirus.In the 24 states reporting this information, between .6-and-6.9 percent of all positive coronavirus cases in children result in a hospitalization.Among the 42 states reporting deaths by age, between 0-and-.15 percent of all child coronavirus cases result in death.The AAP represents pediatric doctors around the country, and has been releasing regular updates on how many positive cases of coronavirus there are among children. 1644

North Wind Heating and Air is a local family-run business proudly serving Macomb County for 28 years. Lisa Agostino signed a work order approving both a service call and repairs to her a/c unit. The part was installed that same day. After the part was installed she reached out to North Wind stating that she no longer agreed with the price of the replaced part. Ms. Agostino was offered a solution to the dispute. She agreed that the part would be returned to North Wind. In turn Ms. Agostino would not be charged. This is what occurred. Ms. Agostino has not been charged for the service call or the replacement part.Days later Ms. Agostino posted false statements about North Wind on-line. She represents that she paid for the service call and replacement part, which she did not. These statements significantly effected North Wind's business. North Wind is a small local business. Ms. Agostino's false and defamatory statements have not only effected the North Wind's business, but has had a direct negative effect on its ability to offer full time hours to its employees.Prior to filing the lawsuit North Wind reached out to Ms. Agostino requesting the removal of the false statements. The FCC has fined telecom companies in the past for network outages. NEW YORK — The Uncle Ben’s rice brand is changing its name to Ben's Original. Parent company Mars Inc. is the latest company to drop a logo criticized as a racial stereotype. Mars said the Ben's Original packaging will hit stores in 2021. Since the 1940s, the rice boxes have featured a white-haired Black man, sometimes with a bowtie. According to Uncle Ben's website, the name "Uncle Ben" refers to a "legendary Texan farmer, Uncle Ben who was known for his exceptionally high-quality rice." Frank Brown, a maitre d' at a Chicago restaurant, posed for "Uncle Ben's" portrait, which has since served as the brand's logo.Critics have said the image evoke servitude. Global President for Mars Food Fiona Dawson says the company is still deciding on an image to accompany the new name. Pressure on brands to retire racial imagery have intensified amid the Black Lives Matter protests over police killings of unarmed African Americans.
