(KGTV and AP) -- A Coronado parachutist jumped out of a plane over Normandy Wednesday, just as soldiers did 75 years ago, according to the Associated Press. The parachutists were honoring the airborne soldiers who jumped into gunfire ahead of the June 6 1944 seaborne invasion. 97-year-old D-Day veteran Tom Rice was among the paratroopers who leapt out of planes that day. According to the Associated Press, Rice jumped in tandem Wednesday into roughly the same area he landed on D-Day. “It went perfect, perfect jump,” Rice said following the jump. “I feel great. I’d go up and do it again.”On D-Day, Rice jumped with the 101st Airborne Division, landing safely despite catching himself on the exit and a bullet hitting his parachute. Rice flew down Wednesday with the stars and stripes flag beneath him, landing with loud applause. Other parachutists jumped with World War II souvenirs, some of which were worn by their grandfathers into battle. Rice said following the jump that he feels he represents a whole generation. (KGTV) -- A Central Valley man has been arrested for reportedly attempting to join ISIS, according to KGO.The man, identified as Bernard Raymond Augustine, 20, from Keyes, California was arrested on charges of providing material support to terrorists.Augustine was taken into custody while trying to enter Libya to join the Islamic State terrorist group.Augustine is expected to make his first appearance in federal court in Brooklyn Tuesday, according to authorities.Records show that Augustine told U.S. Customs he was going to Tunisia, where he was later arrested, for a vacation.After searching through his computer, authorities discovered a song that praised ISIS and messages sent by Augustine that seemed to do the same. 740

Newsom’s office, the free CA Notify system “will help reduce the transmission of COVID-19.” Californians can opt into the digital tool “to receive COVID-19 notifications informing them if they have been exposed to someone who has tested positive for the virus,” Newsom’s office said.Officials confirmed CA Notify is “a completely private, anonymous and secure tool that does not collect location data from any device and never shares user identities.”iPhone users can enable CA Notify by going to Settings, and then to Exposure Notifications. From there, users will have the option to Turn On Exposure Notifications. Users will then choose United States, followed by California.Android device users who want to be notified will have to download the CA Notify app from the Google Play store.How CA Notify functions, according to state officials:“When individuals voluntarily activate CA Notify, the tool uses Bluetooth technology to exchange random codes between phones without revealing the user’s identity or location.If a CA Notify user tests positive for COVID-19, they will receive a verification code to plug into the app, if they choose.
