ENCINITAS (CNS) - A woman is dead today after being struck and killed by a vehicle in Encinitas, authorities said.At 8 p.m. Saturday, the victim, in her 50s, was hit by a vehicle traveling northbound on the 2600 block of South Coast (101) Highway, according to the San Diego Sheriff's Department.``The driver of the involved vehicle stopped immediately and remained at the scene of the collision,'' said Sgt. Jeffrey Houser, with the NorthCoastal Station. ``The driver and nearby bystanders rendered medical aid to the injured pedestrian.''The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.Drugs or alcohol are not suspected to be factors in the collision. ESCONDIDO (KGTV) - Employees of an Escondido golf course are frustrated and at their breaking point after their boss missed August 3rd's paycheck.UPDATE: Business owner paid employees missed and upcoming paycheck.Employes of the?Castle Creek Golf Course & Country Club said they heard their boss had a stroke on the first of the month and that was what caused the pay to be late. Employees were too afraid to speak on camera but said it wasn't the first time payment has been delayed.Golfers also said they've seen the course deteriorate since Osama Alkasabi took ownership in October.An employee said several people have already quit and some have their final day on the job this week.Alkasabi also owns two OAAI gas stations. Employees there vehemently defended Alkasabi but confirmed they hadn't been paid either. Employees there said Alkasabi had heart surgery."They missed only one, and that wasn't intentional," Alkasabi said over the phone. He blamed the delay on a car accident. "My car landed over the curb, and I arrived at the hospital here and had head surgery to make sure there is no bleeding, no fracture or damage," he said that happened August 1 off SR-78 near the Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside.10News spoke with Oceanside Police and California Highway Patrol and neither have records of a crash in that area for the entire week.Alkasabi's gas stations are running out of gas. (KGTV) -- Authorities are asking for the public’s help identifying a woman accused of stealing identities.On February 26, Deputies were contacted by a resident in Encinitas who said someone stole her identity and tried to withdraw money from her bank account.Authorities say the suspect also applied for and received credit cards in the victim’s name and made charges on the fraudulent accounts.Detectives later discovered that the same suspect also stole identities of several other people throughout San Diego and Riverside Counties.Anyone with information is asked to call the North Coastal Sheriff’s Station at 760-966-3500 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.Crime Stoppers is offering up to a ,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to an arrest. 789

(KGTV) — A police pursuit that started in the South Bay ended in North County Tuesday, with the occupants in a standoff with police.The chase began just after 1 p.m. in National City in the 2300 block of E. 8th St. with a report of a suicidal woman in a vehicle, according to National City Police. Officers arrived to find the car leaving the area with a passenger in the back seat of a Nissan sedan.Officers tried to pull the female driver over, but she refused to stop. She continued onto northbound Interstate 805 and then northbound I-15 in the carpool lanes, police said.Sky10 was live over the standoff this afternoon:CHP officers deployed a spike strip in Rancho Bernardo, which the driver hit while traveling about 70 miles per hour. After losing one tire, she slowed to about 10 mph and continued into Escondido, eventually stopping in a parking lot in the 700 block of E. Valley Parkway.Officers surrounded her vehicle but she refused communicate with police. Officers at the scene said she was seen taking pills in the vehicle and stabbing herself.The passenger exited the car shortly after 2 p.m. Soon after, the driver exited carrying a dog. The driver then handed the dog over to police and was taken into custody, ending the 10-minute standoff.She was transported to a nearby hospital. Police have not said what charges, if any, she faces.
