SAN DIEGO (CNS) - One person is dead after being found on the San Diego freeway in the San Ysidro area, authorities said.It was unclear how the person died, and no other details were released.The California Highway Patrol was first summoned to the southbound side of the freeway at the Camino de la Plaza access -- near the connection with the Jacob Dekema (805) Freeway -- at 12:45 a.m., according to H. Austin, with the California Highway Patrol's Border Communications Center.At 1:05 a.m., investigators called paramedics to the scene to provide medical assistance to at least one victim, he said.The incident was later upgraded to a fatality, Dekema said. 667

To that end, the marketing agency launched an online survey for Santee residents to give feedback on the city's strengths, weaknesses and challenges. Responses to the survey are anonymous, according to North Star Destination Strategies."We have partnered with more than 250 communities across North American and I can't emphasize enough the importance of insights gleaned from community members," North Star Founder Don McEachern said.Residents can access the survey at the city's website and submit it electronically. The survey is also available in physical form at Santee City Hall. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped Saturday for the 19th consecutive day and the 31st time in 32 days, decreasing a half-cent to .612.The average price has dropped 22.6 cents over the past 32 days, including six-tenths of a cent Friday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.The average price is 3.7 cents less than one week ago and 22.2 cents lower than one month ago, but 40.1 cents more than one year ago. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The Board of Supervisors Tuesday directed San Diego County's chief administrative officer to create a stronger wildfire protection plan.By a unanimous vote, the board asked Helen Robbins-Meyer to find ways to expand and more strongly support fire-safe councils, enhance pre-fire vegetation management, improve pre-fire emergency planning, strengthen fire-safety measures in new construction, and reduce loss from wildfires in existing buildings.Robbins-Meyer will work with the Fire Authority, Sheriff's Department and other relevant county departments and outside agencies to present recommendations within 90 days.There are 60,000 homes in the county's unincorporated areas that are at a high risk for wildfire, board Chairwoman Dianne Jacob said.
