SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- 64 veterans from WWII and Korean wars have departed San Diego early Friday morning on their “Tour of Honor” which takes them to various memorials in Washington D.C. as part of the Honor Flight San Diego program.It's a journey of a lifetime for many of the veterans. SAN DIEGO (CNS) -The county Health and Human Services Agency Friday reported two unrelated tuberculosis cases, and that people may have been exposed to the bacteria at Southwestern and San Diego City colleges, and on a Metropolitan Transit System bus route.The county is working with officials from both community colleges and MTS to notify those who may have been exposed to TB. The periods of possible exposure were:Aug. 26 to Dec. 10, 2019 at Southwestern College;July 26, to Aug. 5, 2019 and Aug. 19 to Dec. 16, 2019 at San Diego City College;July 26 to Aug. 5, 2019 and Aug. 19 to Dec. 16, 2019, Monday through Friday on MTS Bus Route 12, with two departure routes: from Skyline Hills between 7:59 and 8:47 a.m. to City College Transit Center, and from City College Transit Center between 7:04 and 8:04 p.m. to Skyline Hills.Symptoms of active TB include persistent cough, fever, night sweats and unexplained weight loss, said Wilma Wooten, county public health officer. "Most people who are exposed to tuberculosis do not develop the disease," she added.Tuberculosis can be treated and cured with medication. People with TB symptoms or are immuno-compromised are encouraged to see their medical healthcare provider, according to the county.According to the county, the number of tuberculosis cases has decreased since the early 1990s, with 265 cases reported in 2019.Free TB testing will be available at Southwestern College Student Health Services, 900 Otay Lakes Road, from 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A preliminary 6.6-magnitude earthquake that hit near Ridgecrest was felt throughout Southern California on Independence Day.The earthquake was recorded at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday between Ridgecrest and Searles Valley, in San Bernardino County, according to the United State Geologic Survey (USGS). The quake had a depth of about 5.4 miles.USGS later lowered the preliminary shake-up to 6.4.RELATED: Why didn't San Diego get an alert after July 4's earthquake?Ridgecrest city officials say 87 aftershocks have been recorded following the quake. Several more aftershocks are expected in the next couple of days, according to USGS seismologist Dr. Lucy Jones.Before the earthquake, USGS also recorded two earthquakes measuring 4.0 and 2.2 in San Bernardino County.Here in San Diego, numerous locals, from downtown San Diego up to Oceanside, reported to 10News that they felt the quake. The San Diego County Fair halted rides Thursday for safety inspections after the earthquake, before reopening. USGS "Did you feel it" responses were reported throughout the Southern California area as well.Ridgecrest press conference:Kern County Fire Department reported nearly two dozen incidents ranging from medical assistance to structure fires around Ridgecrest. Crews were also surveying highway passes throughout the city for safety.Ridgecrest Regional Hospital has been evacuated and there was some structural damage, according to Ridgecrest officials. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) --  It was a normal Thursday night for Rob Perelman. His Uber app was on and he was picking up passengers in San Diego. Then suddenly, things changed and his passengers got violent. You may have seen the video by now - a car crashing in Banker's Hill after the passengers began violently beating the driver.RELATED: Uber driver attacked by drunk passengersFriday, Perelman spoke for the first time about his early-morning attack. He told 10News what happened Friday morning isn't an Uber problem - they were just bad apples. "I've done 4,999 rides with good people," Perelman said. "And one with a bad person."Perelman gave that bad ride sometime after 1:00 a.m. Friday. He picked up the passengers in Banker's Hill and almost immediately realized they were drunk. "My gut feeling said to drive away," he said. "But I'm here to give people rides home, and I said you know what, 'we've all been the drunk guy just trying to get home from the bar, let me give these guys a ride home.'"MAP: Track crime happening in your neighborhoodHe only made it two blocks. "The guy in the back seat starts puking out the window...and if he can't make it two blocks, he's definitely not going to make it 10 minutes," Perelman said. So he pulled over and asked the two to get out of his car. He told 10News that he even tried opening the door for one of them."Still nothing happening, so I say a third time, 'get out of the vehicle or I'm calling 911,'" Perelman said. That's when things got dangerous, and the passenger next to him attacked with a fury of punches."And he's not stopping, he's just beyond the point now," Perelman said. "Probably doesn't know what he's doing, just starts throwing punches at my head, I can't get him to stop. I've got my glasses on, he knocks my glasses off."Perelman says he was left with two options. Take the beating or jump out of the car. He took option two, jumping out of the car while it was still in drive and running to a nearby house to call the police.After the car crashed, the passengers seemed to have a moment of clarity and took off. Perelman says he left behind a shoe, a cell phone and ,000 dollars in damages to his car.Even though he had a bad experience, Perelman says he just wants to get back on the road. "I'm just happy that I was able to get out safely and I've got a few bruises on my head, but I was able to walk away, so I'm lucky that it didn't escalate," Perelman said. "I don't know if he has a gun or knife, I just said let me get out of the car I don't care about the vehicle right now."Since Uber knows who the men are, the plan now is to find them and press charges.10News reached out to Uber about the attack. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A choir group from Carlsbad High School got the chance of a lifetime Tuesday night when they took the stage with a legendary rock band.Students from the choir gave themselves an opportunity to perform with award-winning band Foreigner by entering a contest from local radio station KGB-FM in May.“We just sent in a video to KGB, and they gave us a call and said, ‘Hey, you guys won,’” said Carlsbad High choir director Jessie Bullock.“Our teacher told us one day in class and we were like, ‘Oh my gosh. There’s no way! That’s amazing!’” said student Garret Avilez.To the members of Foreigner, public school music education is important.Bassist Jeff Pilson said with tight budgets, public music programs are often the first to get cut. Those programs personally inspired his career.“I started playing the cello when I was in 5th grade and happened to end up with an amazing music teacher,” said Pilson.None of the students were born until decades after Foreigner made a name for itself worldwide. Even the band members admitted the songs are more famous than the band itself.“A lot of these kids don’t realize how many Foreigner songs they know just by being around their parents,” said Pilson.“Some of us want to do performing when we're older and it's just like, being able to get an experience before getting into the industry is really cool,” said student Jamie Polmar.On Tuesday night, the Carlsbad High choir members finally shared the stage with the band at their concert at Chula Vista’s Mattress Firm Amphitheatre, and they sung their hearts out.Foreigner donated 0 to Carlsbad High School’s choir program. 1644
