SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Gas prices continue to soar in Southern California, rising nearly two cents more Monday. According to figures from AAA, the price for a gallon of gas gone up more than 50 cents in less than a month. AAA also says that the price has risen for 21 consecutive days and 27 of the last 28 days in San Diego County. California's gas tax is also set to increase by 5.6 cents on July 1, 2019. Meanwhile, the national average for a gallon of gas Monday was .74.AAA says a series of refinery issues reduced gas supplies.Bloomberg Phillips 66 refinery in Los Angeles, and Chevron Corp.'s El Segundo plants all experienced shut downs and stalls in oil production due to various problems. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Holiday light displays are one of the best aspects of the holiday season.Thousands upon thousands of lights in some cases dress up homes and businesses throughout San Diego County, bringing out families and friends to enjoy the sights and sounds of the season.Throughout the county, San Diegans have numerous displays to drive to and admire. Some are snuggled in cul-de-sacs around town, others, larger events that continue the fun throughout the end of the year.Here's where you can catch San Diego's best light displays this season:(Links for display locations can be found by clicking the location in the map above.)Displays"Carlsbad Christmas House" can be found on Romeria Street in Carlsbad. Lights are on display from Dec. 2 to Dec. 31, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (closed rain days.) "Christmas on Knob Hill" is located at Knob Hill Road in San Marcos. Lights are displayed from Nov. 22 to Dec. 30, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Santa will make an appearance from Dec. 14 to Dec. 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. "Candy Cane Lane" covers Hickory Ct., Hickory St., Butterwood Ct., and Rockrose Ct. in Poway. "Christmas Card Lane" is located on Oviedo St. off Black Mountain Rd. in Rancho Penasquitos. "Belardo Lights" runs on Belardo Dr. through Dec. 27. Lights will be on from about 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly. "Starlight Circle/Sunburst Santee" covers Tomel Ct. off Magnolia Ave. in Santee. Residents have their own schedule for how long lights will be up, but they’ll generally be on from about 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. "The Forward House" in Banker’s Hill is located at Ivy St. and 1st Ave. The house will be lit generally from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Events"December Nights" will hit Balboa Park on Dec. 7 and 8. The park will be decked out in lights as well as holiday music, vendors, and food. "Jungle Bells" welcomes the holidays to San Diego Zoo from Dec. 14 - Jan. 6. The park will run daily light shows and entertainment with zoo staff and animals. "San Diego Bay Parade of Lights" brings out boats dressed in hundreds of lights to the bay, as they parade on the water Dec. 9 and 16. "Garden of Lights" at San Diego Botanic Gardens showers the garden in more than 125,000 lights, and hosts marshmallow roasting, a musical light show, and more. "Christmas Celebration" at SeaWorld San Diego runs from Nov. 17 to Jan. 6, bringing a 40-foot Christmas tree, Santa’s village, and delicious foods to the theme park. 2429

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Dozens of San Diegans are calling on the City Council to take action after they say a decision to let people live in their cars is creating homeless camps in their neighborhoods. Sarah Bonesteel has lived in the Pacific Beach area for 20 years. “It’s ruining the neighborhoods,” Bonesteel. Lately, she says camps of people living in their vehicles are destroying the lifestyle for people who live in the area. “It can be 5 or 6 of them all together on a block. I pay a lot to live here by the beach, and it’s ruining the environment.”It’s been about a month since San Diego’s City Council voted to repeal a decades-old ordinance that prohibited people from living in vehicles on city streets. Now, it’s legal again and some residents aren’t happy about it. “There’s pedophiles close to the schools, we can’t take kids to the library anymore. A lot of people drink and do drugs in their vehicles,” Bonesteel continued. RELATED: City of San Diego allows homeless to live in vehiclesAnd it’s not just the beach towns. Off the 94 near Webster, RVs and giant vans line the street, one even equipped with a satellite dish. Frustrated San Diegans like Bonesteel have even created a coalition to try to fight the change. Residents have been sharing photos and stories, like one woman who says her kids witnessed people beating each other outside a van. Another man says teachers at a local preschool are extremely concerned. In Ocean Beach, one woman captured a photo of a dilapidated school bus. “We’re trying to compile information, pictures of it all, so that we have it documented.”Some people living in their RVs told 10News off camera that they don’t have any other options. But how far has the repeal gone? 10News found people on Airbnb trying to rent out vans with “an ocean view.”“We had joked about them maybe doing that, and then there’s been ads and it’s like holy crap, they’re actually going to rent it out,” Bonesteel said. “This is going too far.”Bonesteel has a message for San Diego’s City Council. “Please think about what you’ve done.”10News tried to reach out to councilmembers about the issue, but haven’t heard back.
