Amateur fossil enthusiast Phil Mullaly knew he had found something special when he spotted something glimmering in a boulder.Mullaly was walking along Jan Juc, a renowned fossil site along Victoria's Surf Coast in South Australia when he spotted a partially exposed shark tooth in the rock."I was immediately excited, it was just perfect," Mullaly said.That was just one of multiple teeth Mullaly found that day in 2015. Three years later, scientists have confirmed his hunch, saying Thursday that the teeth are all about 25 million years old and belonged to an extinct species of mega-toothed shark -- the Great Jagged Narrow-Toothed Shark (Carcharocles angustidens).The ancient shark was believed to grow up to about 9 meters (30 feet) long, double the size of a great white shark. The teeth discovered on the beach were around 7 cm (2.75 inches) in length.Mullaly's is one of the rarest finds in the history of paleontology, according to Erich Fitzgerald, a palaeontologist at Museums Victoria who led a team to excavate the site where the initial fossils were found."If you think about how long we've been looking for fossils around the world as a civilization -- which is maybe 200 years -- in (that time) we have found just three (sets of) fossils of this kind on the entire planet, and this most recent find from Australia is one of those three," Fitzgerald told CNN. 1382

After a five-year battle, the father of Las Vegas quintuplets is acquitted of rental fraud charges.The Derricos became instant celebrities in 2013 when they became a family of eleven. A wooden sculpture of First Lady Melania Trump in her Slovenian hometown was burned by vandals on the Fourth of July, CNN and Reuters report.Brad Downey, the American, Berlin-based artist that commissioned the sculpture, said he received a call from officials in Sevnica, Slovenia, on July 5, who informed him that the statue had been badly burned the night before.Downey said he immediately had the statue removed and filed a police report. But he told CNN that he wasn't interested in pressing charges against those responsible."I would be curious to see who did it," Downey told CNN.In recent weeks, President Donald Trump has taken a hard line against vandals who have toppled statues and monuments to historical figures with ties to slavery or imperialism. In a divisive speech at Mt. Rushmore on July 3, Trump called those toppling such monuments as a part of a "far-left fascism" that aimed to "end America."The statue was erected in 2019 when Downey commissioned a local woodworker to carve the 25-foot sculpture out of a fallen tree trunk. Almost 30 million Facebook users' phone numbers and email addresses were accessed by hackers in the biggest security breach in the company's history, Facebook said on Friday. The attackers accessed even more details on 14 million of those users, including the area where they live, their relationship status and their religion.The new details come two weeks after Facebook first announced that attackers had access to 50 million users' accounts -- meaning they could have logged in as those users. Facebook said on Friday that, "We now know that fewer people were impacted than we originally thought," and said that 30 million people had been impacted.For the 14 million worst hit by the breach, the attackers were able to access the following information, Facebook said: "username, gender, locale/language, relationship status, religion, hometown, self-reported current city, birthdate, device types used to access Facebook, education, work, the last 10 places they checked into or were tagged in, website, people or Pages they follow, and the 15 most recent searches."Facebook said it will send a message to the 30 million users affected in the coming days.
