Perhaps making up for lost time after going five years since her last starring role, Drew Barrymore pulls double duty in "The Stand-In." The comedy is a "The Prince and the Pauper" knockoff that isn't worthy of a single Barrymore performance, let alone two.While Barrymore shows off some range in exploring the two characters, the script doesn't provide enough material for either of them to stand out.She plays both fallen comedy star Candy Black and her meek stand-in, Paula. Once a judge sentences Candy to rehab, she and Paula work out a switcheroo deal that spares Candy the inconvenience of alcoholism recovery while giving Paula a break from her dreary life.You can usually tell whether or not a comedy has a shot at working in the first 15 minutes, when there are no concerns for setting up the story and the characters are free to romp without a care of advancing the tale. "The Stand-In" gets stuck in the mud early on, focusing on its bizarre setup. Candy comes off as an intolerable diva, while Paula is a helpless pushover. Neither is all that appealing.At least it's got Barrymore going for it. Bursting with personality while showing off the vulnerability that she's had full command of ever since she was a tyke in "E.T." she retains the star charisma that shot her up the ranks of the Hollywood elite. Since roles in the vein of "The Wedding Singer" and "Never Been Kissed" are no longer coming along, it's refreshing to see her reinvent herself as a Melissa McCarthy-style comedic force of nature.Director Jamie Babbit manages to squeeze a few laughs out of her capable ensemble cast, which includes Ellie Kemper and T.J. Miller, but the lazy story takes way too long to push forward, and any potential emotional impact falls by the wayside as the dull plot plods its way to its conclusion.The central message in most movies like this is that the grass isn't greener on the other side. Photographer Matthew Dippel captured a once-in-a-lifetime photo earlier this month at Yosemite National Park, capturing the moment of what appears to be a marriage proposal. Dippel's photo shows the proposal taking place on a cliff, with the sun shining in the background. Now Dippel is hoping to find the couple in the photo. "Alright internet I need your help," Dippel said. "Help me find these two. This was taken at Taft Point, in Yosemite National Park on October 6th, 2018. Philadelphia Police have released 911 audio from an arrest at a local Starbucks that has prompted national outrage.The audio was uploaded to the Philadelphia Police's YouTube page on Tuesday. "Hi, I have two gentlemen in my cafe that are refusing to make a purchase or leave. I'm at the Starbucks at 18th and Spruce," a female caller tells at dispatch officer.The officer told the caller that police would be out "as soon as possible."The recording also included dispatches between officers. At one point, officers request "another unit along with a supervisor" for help dealing with a two men "causing a disturbance" at the coffee shop.Later, officers inform dispatch that they've made two arrests and are en route back to headquarters.Following the arrest, Starbucks would decline to press charges and the men would be released. The woman who called police was reportedly the manager of the store. She has "left the store" while Starbucks investigates the matter.Video of the arrest filmed by a customer at the shop has been shared thousands of times on social media and prompted a rebuke by the company's CEO. Yesterday, Starbucks announced it would close 8,000 company-owned stores on May 29 to conduct racial-bias education with its employees.  1302

PARADISE HILLS (CNS) - A 28-year-old man and his 27-year-old passenger were injured today after the 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle they were riding crashed into a stationary vehicle in the Paradise Hills neighborhood of San Diego.The collision happened at 9:30 p.m. Saturday in the 6400 block of Potomac Street, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.``The driver lost control of his motorcycle and slid into a parked vehicle,'' Heims said. ``The driver sustained broken knees along with several other injuries.''The passenger suffered a dislocated right hip. Both were transported to a local hospital.A San Diego Police Traffic Division investigation determined the crash occurred, at least in part, because of substance intoxication. 774
