White spent more than 30 years in America’s Finest City as a reporter and anchor at KGTV 10News.White grew up in Oceanside and graduated from Oceanside High School in 1957. He was even inducted into the school’s hall of fame for his contribution to the arts.White began his broadcasting career on the radio in the early 1960s before moving to TV where he spent 34 years at KGTV.On November 14, 2010, the City of San Diego declared Jack White Day. But few have had to endure the hurdles of Bryce Olson."I started to come to terms with my own mortality," said Olson in November of 2018. "I didn't even think I would see my kid get out of elementary school, and I started losing hope."We have been following Bryce Olson's story for over two years. We profiled the Oregon man because he had been traveling to San Diego for research and precision therapies for his Stage 4 Metastatic Prostate Cancer. Olson couldn't spare another missed treatment. The cancer had spread to his spine, and within weeks he would have been unable to walk. But that was just the beginning of his renewed hope. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - In an effort to accelerate hiring and training of more border officer, National Guard members were deployed Tuesday to ports of entry along San Diego County's border with Mexico.In total, 24 National Guard troops joined Customs and Border Protection personnel at Port of San Diego, and ports of entry in San Ysidro, Otay Mesa, Tecate, and Calexico.They will not be taking part in any enforcement activities, according to CBP, instead, helping in surveillance support and operations.
