SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 12-year-old girl riding a skateboard down a City Heights hill was seriously injured Wednesday when she crashed into the back of a minivan, San Diego police said.According to police, the crash happened just before 5:30 pm. at the intersection of Estrella and Polk avenues.Police said a Toyota Sienna was traveling northbound in the 4000 block of Estrella Avenue when it entered the intersection. The skateboarder going downhill on eastbound Polk Avenue “failed to stop” at the intersection and collided with the minivan’s left rear bumper cover.The girl sustained major injuries, including a fractured skull and brain bleed, according to police. She was rushed to Rady Children’s Hospital for treatment; her condition is unknown. 758

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A 28-year-old man has been arrested after police say he set fire to a Chula Vista pro-rent control office.According to Chula Vista Police, Christopher Treyvoun Jenkins was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges, including burglary and arson.On Friday, Police responded to a burglary alarm at the Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment.When they arrived, officers noticed a large plume of smoke coming from the suite. The Chula Vista Fire Department arrived and extinguished the flames. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A family’s trip to the pumpkin patch goes sour when thieves went picking through their car while they were picking out their pumpkins.Fay Feltman, her daughter, her granddaughter and great grandson went to the pumpkin patch located off Mission Gorge in Grantville.Because of how busy the lot was, they struggled to find an open space. Once inside, the granddaughter got a call from her dad asking about a recent Walmart charge of 00.RELATED: Intruder raids Del Cerro bedroom while woman sleepsFeltman still frustrated Tuesday, “Who would think this would happen at a pumpkin patch”. She tells 10 News her daughter ran to the car to find the window smashed and the purse stolen right from the trunk of the car.Feltman says her and her family were only in the patch for about 30 minutes. SAN DIEGO (CNS)  - A 39-year-old woman suffered some head injuries Saturday morning during a home invasion at a residence in the Nestor community of San Diego, where one of two suspects fired a shot into the structure, shattering the glass of a rear patio door.No property was taken, said Officer Steve Bourasa of the San Diego Police Department.The woman was with her 45-year-old husband at their home in the 1500 block of Oro Vista Road when someone knocked on their front door a little before 1:30 a.m. and asked for a woman, Bourasa said.``The woman told the male no one by that name lived there," he said. ``The male left the front door and went to the rear of the residence, where he was joined by another male. The two males jumped the patio fence and began banging on the rear glass patio door."One of the suspects fired a shot into the patio door, shattering the glass and one of the two suspects entered the home, he said.He confronted the woman, demanded money and punched her several times when she said she did not have any money, he said.``Meanwhile, the husband had exited the front door and went around to the rear of the residence, where he saw the other male standing on the grass," Bourasa said. ``That male pointed a handgun at the husband and then fled."The man heard his wife screaming, ran back inside his home and saw her being assaulted by one of the two suspects. The man then began punching the suspect who had been assaulting his wife, causing the suspect to flee the residence, where he jumped over the patio fence and ran off, he said.The 39-year-old woman was transported to an area hospital, he said.One suspect was described as a 20 to 30 year old Latino man with a normal 5-foot, 7-inch tall normal build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with black pants and glasses.The second suspect was described as a 20 to 30 year old Latino man with a 6-foot, 2-inch tall normal.
