The cost of sending a letter might be going up next year.On Friday, the United States Postal Service issued a press release stating that they had filed notice with the Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) about its plan to increase prices.The new proposal would raise the price of first-class mail by 1.8% and 1.5% for other categories, the agency said.The additional ounce price for a single-piece letter would increase to 20 cents, the price for a metered mail 1-ounce would increase to 51 cents, and the cost of sending a postcard would increase to 36 cents.Items that will remain unchanged are the single-piece 1-ounce flat prices, which will stay , and the forever stamp will stay at 55 cents.The Postal Service Board of Directors believes the price increase will provide revenue for the agency and keep them competitive.The price increase will take effect on Jan. 24 after a review by the PRC. 907

The Cleveland Cavaliers announced today that Kevin Love will not be playing in Game 7 on Sunday against the Boston Celtics.The decision came after Love knocked heads with Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum during the first quarter of last night's game. The team said Love was evaluated before their flight to Boston and is experiencing concussion-like symptoms. The Department of Veteran's Affairs (VA) is facing a huge undertaking as COVID-19 vaccines roll out to the general public.More than 418,000 healthcare workers and 10 million patients will eventually get the COVID-19 vaccine through the VA.The department received 73,000 doses of Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine this week, and residents and staff at long term communities run by the department are first in line to be inoculated.There are about 17,500 veterans living in VA long-term care facilities across the country, and several thousand more work in those centers.The vaccine could not have arrived sooner for those staff members and patients."I know a lot of VA medical centers are going through COVID surges right now, alongside with their communities," said Dr. Jane Kim, the Chief Consultant for Preventive Medicine at the VA.Most vaccines are mandatory for military members. For now, the COVID-19 vaccine is still voluntary. That's likely due to the limited supply of the vaccine and because it's only under Emergency Use Authorization right now.Still, veteran doctors want to reassure their patients."I got the vaccine yesterday," Kim said. "I had a sore arm yesterday, but my arm feels good today. I feel fine today. I would recommend this vaccine to my family and also my patients when it's available for them and it's their turn."More than 5,500 veteran patients and 87 VA staff members have died of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic. The Ebola virus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo has killed 33 people, the World Health Organization said Sunday.An additional 43 suspected cases of Ebola were reported, including 13 confirmed by lab testing, according to WHO.The outbreak is spreading through five health zones in North Kivu province and one health zone in Ituri province, which poses geographic and political challenges, the WHO said.
