We're now entering peak back-to-school shopping season, but this is turning out to be a school shopping season like none ever before.In the year of the pandemic, many parents are holding off, unsure their children will even set foot in their schools this fall.In normal years, Target, Staples and other stores would be running big back-to-school campaigns by now. WASHINGTON (AP) — The number of immigrants in the U.S. without legal status has declined to its lowest level in more than a decade, according to a new report released Tuesday.The nonpartisan Pew Research Center said 10.7 million immigrants lacked legal status in 2016, down from 11 million a year earlier and from a peak of 12.2 million in 2007 before the U.S. economy slumped.It is the lowest number since 2004, the report said.The decline stems largely from a drop in the number of Mexican immigrants living in the U.S. illegally to 5.5 million in 2016 from nearly 7 million in 2007. Some returned to their country to reunite with family, while others were deported.During the same period, the number of immigrants from Central America without legal status increased to nearly 1.9 million from 1.5 million.The report comes as the Trump administration has cracked down on immigration and bolstered security on the Southwest border, where thousands of Central American families have arrived to seek asylum.The report is based on U.S. Census Bureau data. It also noted an increase in the number of immigrants without legal status from India and Venezuela and a decrease in those from Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Korea and Peru.Overall, immigrants without legal status are less likely to be recent arrivals, said D'Vera Cohn, who co-authored the report.The report also notes that the number of legal immigrants grew to 34.4 million from 28.3 million over the nine-year period, and that more than half of the country's legal immigrants in 2016 were naturalized U.S. citizens. 1579

We tend to go to thrift stores to find good deals and to save money.  But have you ever thought about making money at a thrift store instead?The idea is to buy items that you can resell at a higher price online.Ecommerce expert Glen Zubia buys and sells items for a living on sites like eBay and makes up to ,000 a month.So what are the things to look for?  “First probably go electronics; electronics people buy DVD/VHS combos, old video games,” said Zubia.When first starting out, he suggests you stick with familiar items.  For example, Zubia suggests items related to pop culture, Disney items, and certain exclusive products tied to sports teams.  "And then of course, vintage always comes back," said Zubia.If you go to a thrift store and see an item you would never buy, just know there is likely someone out there who would.  The key is to do some quick research online to find out what people are wanting and how much they are willing to spend.Zubia points out that just because something is listed on eBay at a certain price, it doesn't necessarily mean it will actually sell for that price.  "But the completed listings will tell us, 'okay this is selling for ,' here it is in my hand for .  Now I have an expectation to make a certain amount of money,” said Zubia.There are other sites besides eBay where you can sell your items like Tradsey, Poshmart and Amazon. Zubia recommends first time eBay sellers build their clientele before pricing items high.“You’re at zero.  A lot of buyers aren’t going to trust you right away. So, it’s always good to start off with stuff you already have, cheaper items, building up your feedback and then you’ll get more customers coming in,” said Zubia.Also, don’t just limit yourself to thrift stores to find these money-making treasures.
