SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Employees at Sovereign Health in Rancho San Diego tell 10News they have not been paid for weeks.Tracy Hydorn is one of those employees. She wiped away tears, thinking about her piling expenses."I haven't been able to send my son to his prom, buy his yearbook, get tires on my car," Hydorn said. She got emotional as she talked about being able to do "basic paying" of items.Hydorn works at the Sovereign Health facility on Steele Canyon Road. She said her paychecks are five weeks behind."The people that I work with are good people and they're working hard, but the corporation doesn't care at all," Hydorn said.She is not alone. The company has six locations across the country with about 500 employees. Eugene, a driver for Sovereign Health in Florida, said his paychecks are weeks late. He was forced to take on another job as an Uber driver to make money. "I Uber'ed until 5:30 in the morning... and still didn't make enough money to pay my rent," Eugene said.A spokesperson for Sovereign Health told Team 10 payroll issues have been going on throughout the company for six weeks due to a transition to a new vendor. He would not say who that vendor was. They are hoping the situation will be taken care of by early next week and apologized to its employees. Hydorn is trying to hang on, but she is tired of the company's excuses."If anything they had said had been genuine or you could believe it, it would be easier to deal with," she said.  1496

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Hundreds of San Diego Gas and Electric customers around the Point Loma area were without power on Black Friday.The outage was reported just before 10 a.m., according to SDG&E's outage map. The outage affected more than 1,000 customers in the Ocean Beach, Midway, and Point Loma areas.Lindbergh Field was listed under the affected areas, but the airport told 10News they were not aware of any issues.By 6 p.m., power was restored to all customers, except for 11 households, according to SDG&E.Crews say they needed to repair a piece of equipment.10News has reached out to SDG&E for more information. 637

Someone taking up the slow lane on one of the scooters.California vehicle codes prohibit electric scooters on any road with a speed limit of more than 25 miles per hour.CHP officer Jim Bettencourt says he’s even seen them on the Coronado Bridge. A sign clearly states that pedestrians, bicycles and motor-driven cycles prohibited.As drivers go onto the bridge, not even an inch of space exists on the shoulder. In fact, the City of Coronado banned the dockless bikes and scooters in march.If left parked, they’ll be impounded. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — For the fourth consecutive year, the USS Champion has won a contest held between ships at Naval Base San Diego over which crew could put together the best decorations."It's just a great opportunity for the crew to really come together, enjoy some time not focusing on the day to day, but to really express themselves," said the ship's commanding officer, Lt. Commander Matthew Yokeley.The Champion, an Avenger-Class Minesweeper, was covered in decorations. Lights, bows, and bells lined the railings and were struck all the way to the top of the mast. Giant inflatables were mounted on the deck, along with a Christmas tree. The lights were synchronized to flash with a holiday music show.This is a big deal for us. Christmas lights are pretty competitive," said Petty Officer Pierce Cloninger. "We like to win. They don't call us Champion for nothing." 880
