Several other financial roles also scored high on the list, including audit manager and accounting manager. Glassdoor says the accounting field has plenty of strong career opportunities coupled with competitive salaries and numerous open jobs. All factors that paint a bright future for anyone looking to grow their career in the field, the site says. The report also found that dentists, physician assistants and nursing managers also have career opportunities as demand grows. (KGTV) -- Charles Butler visits homes in San Diego, but he is not trying to sell anything. Butler is a code compliance officer for San Diego Fire-Rescue and makes sure brush surrounding homes is not out of control. “It’s the hillside we’re really concerned about, the canyon rim location,” Butler said. It is Wildfire Awareness Week in California. Assistant Fire Marshal Eddie Villavicencio said approximately 40,500 homes in San Diego are canyon rim properties, next to native or naturalized vegetation. Fortunately, it usually does not have to go that far. “People are more proactive and more willing to create that proper defensible space,” Villavicencio said. However, there are challenges including a lack of staffing. Villavicencio said they do not visit as many homes as they would like to per year. That is all the more reason to do your part. “That’s the intent of the defensible space. It’s keeping small fires small, it’s giving fire operations time to respond to the fire and the space to fight the fire,” Villavicencio said. 2472

(KGTV) -- Foot Locker is helping voters get a leg up this election year.The athletic retailer is partnering with the nonprofit Rock the Vote to turn all of its U.S. stores into temporary voter registration sites.Beginning Sept. 22, Foot Locker will have registration kiosks with a website where visitors can check their voter status, register to vote or sign up for election reminders.The company has more than 2,000 stores in the U.S., including seven locations in San Diego County.Foot Locker says the initiative is targeted at the more than 4 million young Americans eligible to vote this year. CEO Richard Johnson said the goal is to “educate and amplify the voices of today's youth.”Kids Foot Locker, Lady Foot Locker, Champs Sports, and Footaction will also house kiosks. 785
