(KGTV) -- Authorities are warning Americans traveling to Tijuana about people posing as police officers reportedly getting aggressive with drivers waiting to cross the San Ysidro Port of Entry. Photos from Tijuana Police show officers near the port putting a man in handcuffs. Authorities in Mexico say he’s one of 35 people arrested Sunday for being aggressive to drivers waiting to get back into the United States. The concern was raised this week as travelers are expected to head south for the holiday weekend. Marco Sotomayor, the Secretary of Public Safety in Tijuana told the San Diego Union Tribune that the city is seeing cases that are more violent and more consistent. Sotomayor goes on to say that criminals sometimes mask themselves as police officers wearing fake badges on hats and jackets, demanding money from drivers stuck in lines. "I think you very much stick out if you've never been to Mexico, and you don't know where you're going and you don't know what roads to take, I think that does make you a very easy target,” said Amanda Matti with Daytripper Tours. She says the company has been safely traveling into Mexico for 30 years. Because they travel in large groups via buses and have contacts across the border, Matti says their tour service never runs into these type of issues. "Our driver is usually local, experienced in Mexico, our tour managers are experienced, so I think they know not to target us."Matti says if you plan on going this weekend and don’t have experience, don’t go alone. "We definitely recommend traveling in a group." 1595

SAN MARCOS, Calif. (KGTV) – Authorities have identified the victim and suspect after a man and a woman were found dead in a San Marcos home Monday. The Medical Examiner identified the victim as Michelle Johnson, 43, as the victim and Tiko Leal, 49, as the suspect. Deputies were called to the home on the 1000 block of Lanza Court early Monday morning after receiving reports of unknown trouble. Neighbors told deputies that two children, ages 10 and 11, were inside the home and afraid to come out. After entering the home, Johnson and Leal were found unresponsive with trauma to their bodies, according to the department. SAN ONOFRE (CNS) - Two separate vehicle collisions along the southbound San Diego (5) Freeway today near the San Onofre Nuclear Plant, with possible injuries, were under investigation, authorities said.The California Highway Patrol was first alerted of a non-injury crash at 1:10 a.m., a dispatcher at the CHP's Border Communications Center confirmed.Later, officers learned that a more serious collision occurred, the dispatcher confirmed.The Camp Pendleton Fire Department was called to respond, but the extent of any injuries was unclear. 549

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Emergency crews have recovered a body after an incident at a Scottsdale aquatic park.Crews were at Eldorado Aquatic Park near Hayden and McDowell road early Monday morning.Scottsdale police say around 12:30 a.m.; an officer was making rounds in the area when he heard what sounded like muffled calls for help.He worked to locate where the calls may be coming from and eventually found them to be coming from a pipe that helps support one of the water slides.Officers were communicating with the victim, said to be a transient, but lost communication with him around 2 a.m.Officials say the man reportedly went up over a tall fence surrounding the park and was up on the slide. He then somehow fell into the pipe structure, where he became trapped.Crews had to dismantle the slide in order to get the victim's body out.He has since been identified as 31-year-old Ryan Kelly. SAN YSIDRO, Calif. (KGTV) — Several migrants were saved from a flooded San Ysidro storm drain in two separate rescues.The first rescue took place just before 11 p.m. Thursday. Border Patrol agents say they found three people trying to illegally enter the U.S. near a drainage tube about two miles west of the San Ysidro Port of Entry. The three people told agents that others were still inside the drain as heavy rainfall began to flood the tube.With the help of San Diego Fire-Rescue, one woman was quickly pulled to safety from the drainage tube before crews saved 13 more people through a manhole leading into the drain.RELATED: Teen found hiding in car dashboard at Calexico West Port of EntrySeven of those 17 people were taken to a nearby hospital.Then at about 1:15 a.m. Friday, border agents reported more migrants were possibly trapped in the same drain. SDFD crews and lifeguards returned and pulled one woman from the drain. Border Patrol agents also found two people near the exit of the tube. All were being processed Friday for illegally entering the country.Just before 3 a.m., Border Patrol agents say they located an unknown, deceased person in the water line on a beach near the west end of the Tijuana River mouth. It wasn't known, though, if the person was related to the earlier smuggling attempts, according to Customs and Border Protection.“The lifesaving efforts of these agents, who bravely risk their own lives to save others, makes me proud.” said Chief Patrol Agent Douglas Harrison. “Inclement weather conditions and perilous drainage pipe water flows, significantly increase the odds of a grim outcome.” 1862
