VENTURA, Calif. (AP) — A California church held indoor worship service Sunday morning despite a judge’s temporary restraining order that bars the church from doing so. The pastor led a 9 a.m. service in defiance of coronavirus health orders at Godspeak Calvary Chapel in Ventura County’s Newbury Park. A livestream of the morning’s service showed a mask-less pastor and a musician standing before at least two dozen worshipers — most of whom were also not wearing masks. VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) - A North San Diego County resident resorted to Wild West measures after he was the victim of a crime, creating "Wanted: Dead or Alive" posters to find a thief.The San Diego Sheriff’s Office says approximately ,800 worth of items ranging from power tools to a mountain bike were stolen from a home on Valley Center Road on February 16.SDSO was working the case when the homeowner told deputies he had hung posters with the suspect’s image bearing ‘wanted dead or alive’ and the station’s number around town.“We don’t encourage vigilantism,” said Sgt. Russell Ryan.Ryan says SDSO asked the man to remove the posters but the man claimed he was exercising his first amendment rights.SDSO’s Valley Center substation took to Twitter to clarify they were, in fact, looking for the suspect but there was not a death warrant for alleged thief.Deputies were able identify the suspect as 23-year-old Jose Martinez, thanks to the homeowner's surveillance video. Martinez was taken into custody on Wednesday.Martinez is currently being held at the Vista Detention Facility on several burglary-related charges and is believed to be related to other recent thefts, according to SDSO.Sgt. VICTORVILLE, Calif. - A 14-year-old boy conducted an false investigation in Victorville, California in an SUV with emergency lights and a San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department uniform, investigators said.Deputies said the boy pulled the Ford Explorer with red and blue lights into the driveway of a home Monday about 6 p.m.The boy, who was wearing a uniform with a firearm in the belt holster, went to the front door and said he was there to investigate a domestic disturbance.The homeowner said there was no problem and no one at the home had called for help. Update, 1:28 p.m. Chula Vista Police say Ennis was found safe. He apparently took a cab to his former home in Santee.CHULA VISTA, Calif. (KGTV) — Police in the South Bay area searching for a missing man who may have walked away from an assisted living home.David Ennis, 90, is believed to have walked away from the home on G Street just before 7 a.m. Friday, according to Chula Vista Police. Ennis suffers from dementia and is not familiar with the area, police added. Because of that and the cold weather, Ennis is considered at-risk.The man is described as Caucasian, six-feet tall, clean shaven, and with balding gray hair. He is known to walk with a cane, hunched-over. He was last seen wearing a dark blue hat, navy blue jacket, and gray sweatpants.
