As Puerto Rico prepares for a direct strike from Tropical Storm Dorian on Wednesday, the east coast of Florida could see Dorian make landfall as a hurricane this weekend. According to the forecast track published by the National Hurricane Center late on Tuesday, Dorian is expected to come ashore Sunday night as a hurricane, possibly along the Florida east coast. The coast of Georgia is also in the path of Dorian. Before Dorian reaches the continental U.S., it will pass by Puerto Rico on Wednesday. An incoming University of Southern California freshman died in a freeway accident over the weekend, the university confirmed in a Monday statement.Eighteen-year-old Matthew Olson was walking south on Interstate-110 when he was hit by two cars at around 2:43 a.m. on Saturday, according to a news release from the California Highway Patrol.Olson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Los Angeles Fire Department Paramedics, CHP said. He was walking on I-110 between two FasTrak lanes, according to the release."It is unknown at this time why (Olson) was walking in the freeway lanes," the release says.One person has been arrested, according to a CHP report.The incident is still under investigation.He was from Newport Beach and had graduated from Corona del Mar High School. At least 19 journalists have been arrested, 36 journalists shot at by police with projectiles, and 76 journalists have been assaulted during the period of May 28 through 31 while covering protests throughout the US. Those figures are according to research conducted by U.S. Freedom Tracker, which keeps a tally on incidents attacking the news media’s right to report. The group said on Monday that it generally documents 100 to 150 “press freedom violations” per year in the US. In just four days, that number is well over 100. The group said that it is still investigating a number of other incidents, and it is possible that figure could increase in the coming days. Of the 76 reported assaults on journalists, 80% were by police, either through physical encounters or being shot at. There have been a few notable incidents in recent days, including a group of CNN reporters getting arrested in Minneapolis on Friday; a Louisville TV journalist being shot at with projectiles by police; reporters from Fox News being attacked by protesters in DC; and an MSNBC reporter being attacked on Saturday. Adam Symson, the CEO of the E.W. An Iranian beauty queen who has spent almost two weeks inside Manila's international airport says she will be killed if she is sent back home and is seeking asylum in the Philippines.Bahareh Zare Bahari, a contestant in the recent Miss Intercontinental pageant in Manila, claims Tehran is attempting to silence her because of her public stand against the government.In a press release last week, the Philippines Immigration Department said the international police agency Interpol issued a worldwide request to arrest Bahari, known as a red notice. The statement did not specify which country requested the red notice, but Bahari told CNN that an immigration official told her Iran requested one in 2018."I have been living here since 2014 and I've not gone back to Iran. I explained to them many times, how can I have a criminal case in Iran when I've been living here?" she told CNN by phone.Bahari said she has been confined to a passenger room in Terminal 3 of Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport since she arrived from Dubai 12 days ago. "I'm really mentally sick," she said, adding that the uncertainty over her case is wearing her down.Bahari believes she is being targeted for supporting the exiled Reza Pahlavi, the son of the Shah of Iran overthrown in the country's 1979 revolution.The beauty queen blamed the situation on Iranian authorities, saying it came up because she used an image of Pahlavi and the flag of the former Iranian monarchy as props during a recent competition.
