FREETOWN, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Medical Aid Team of Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) to Sierra Leone has treated more than 70 people affected by the deadly mudslide and flooding that struck the West African nation's capital Freetown on Aug. 14.

The region’s problems should only be settled through a direct dialogue of all the parties concerned without any preconditions. Provocations, pressure and militarist and insulting rhetoric are a dead-end road.

Xi and Putin agreed to stick to the goal of denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula and keep close communication and coordination to deal with the new situation.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, made the remarks in a written instruction conveyed to the eighth national conference on petition work, which was held in Beijing on Tuesday and Wednesday.
