(KGTV) — Firefighters made progress Friday against a brush fire that burned dangerously close to homes in Riverside County.As of 7 a.m. Saturday, the Tenaja Fire was 35% contained and had scorched at least 2,000 acres in the Murrieta area, according to Cal Fire. All evacuation warnings were lifted Friday night after fire crews said the fire's activity was minimal Friday. Multiple secretaries of state in battleground states are reporting robocalls to their residents telling them to stay home Tuesday. They are worried the calls are misleading and spreading misinformation on Election Day, and the FBI and other law enforcement agencies are looking into where the calls are originating from.The anonymous robocalls, which appear to come from a local number, tell voters, “Now is the time to stay home. Stay safe and stay home.”Michigan’s Secretary of State, Jocelyn Benson, tweeted Tuesday morning about the robocalls.“We received reports that an unknown party is purposefully spreading misinformation via robocalls in Flint in an attempt to confuse voters there. I want to ensure everyone who plans to vote in person understands you *must be in line to do so by 8 p.m. today.*” 815

NASA released data on Monday indicating that the polar ice cap around the North Pole shrank to near record-low levels last week following an arctic heat wave.The ice began to melt in earnest as Siberia was an estimated 14 to 18 degrees above normal during the spring.“It was just really warm in the Arctic this year, and the melt seasons have been starting earlier and earlier,” said Nathan Kurtz, a sea ice scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. “The earlier the melt season starts, the more ice you generally lose.”The white color of ice causes sunlight to be reflected. But when the ice melts, the ground absorbs more sunlight, which causes the earth to heat up.2020 marked only the second time on record that the minimum sea ice dropped below 1.5 million square miles.“As the sea ice cover extent declines, what we’re seeing is we’re continuing to lose that multiyear ice,” said Mark Serreze, director of National Snow and Ice Data Center. “The ice is shrinking in the summer, but it’s also getting thinner. (KGTV) -- Police in National City are asking for the public’s help finding a suspect accused of killing a 26-year-old man near a National City 7-Eleven.Police say Onan Loaiza was shot and killed on the 800 block of Eta Street around 11 a.m. on March 27.Police say one suspect, Robert Allen Garduno, 27, was arrested for the murder, but another suspect is still on the loose.RELATED: Deadly shooting near 7-Eleven in National City may have been sparked by fight, police say?According to detectives, Loaiza was walking home after reportedly getting into a fight at the Mex Mart when a vehicle pulled up next to him.Authorities say a man got out of the passenger side of the vehicle and shot and killed Loaiza.Anyone with information is asked to call the National City Police Department at 619-336-4411 or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.Crime Stoppers is offering up to a ,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest.RELATED: Man dies after shooting near National City 7-Eleven The shooting was the first of two to happen near the same location. On April 8, police were called to the same area after they say another man was shot and killed on the 100 block of North Highland Avenue.Police haven't named the victim or suspect in that homicide.  1299

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A new piece of evidence in the case of a missing Tennessee 5-year-old indicates that Joe Clyde Daniels could still be alive.The boy disappeared in April and investigators have long presumed he is dead. But, his body has never been found. Scripps station WTVF in Nashville obtained photos of the letter that was sent anonymously to Joe Clyde's grandparents.The handwritten letter was postmarked out of Nashville. It was sent this week to the grandparents in Dickson, Tennessee. The anonymous writer claims Joe Clyde's mother, Krystal Daniels, arranged to give the little boy away."I believe Krystal got Joe's clothes, packed them into a bag... and left Joe on the side of the road," the letter says.The writer claims that he is alive and living in west Tennessee, possibly in Jackson. "If we could get Krystal to confess what really happened...with this case. I know it's a bizarre case," the letter reads. The letter goes on to name those involved. WTVF has chosen not to reveal the names because the individuals have not been named by police as part of the investigation. Jake Lockert, the attorney for Joseph Daniels — Joe Clyde's father who is charged in his death — confirmed the grandparents have turned the letter over to authorities. Investigators have yet to comment on the new evidence.  Police say Krystal Daniels had motive against Joe Clyde. Investigators tell NewsChannel 5 she was frustrated with raising a child with autism and was angry the family was forced to give away their dogs because of him.  The letter doesn't mention the child's father. Earlier this year, investigators said Joseph Daniels confessed to killing his son. However, his attorney argues the confession was coerced. To this day, investigators said Joseph Daniels has not been able to tell them what happened to his son's remains.   1940
