According to ABC News, hundreds of volunteers decked out in Christmas hats and military uniforms will still take calls from children around the world. According to ABC News, a local newspaper ran an ad inviting kids to call Santa, but listed the wrong number. Demonstrators in Sacramento marched Friday to California's Capitol during a second day of protests over the police-involved shooting death of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man.The crowd walked about a mile from the city's Tower Bridge to the steps of the seat of state government.They chanted "Black lives matter" and called out Clark's name. One of the march leaders told people to hold up their cellphones; police have said Clark had an object in his hand, but no weapon was found."It's just a cellphone," the man yelled out. "I don't know how the hell it looks like a gun to anybody else."The shooting incident began Sunday after 9 p.m., when Sacramento officers responded to a report that a man had broken car windows and was hiding in a backyard. DETROIT — A 12-year-old girl takes a challenge and a dare that could have cost her life.It’s called the "fire challenge." Young people pour flammable liquids on their bodies and set themselves on fire.Brandi Owens says her 12-year-old daughter Timiyah Landers did the challenge with her friends last Friday.She ended up engulfed in flames. Brandi and her fiance extinguished the blaze from her baby girl and rushed her to the hospital.Timiyah is now at Children’s Hospital with second and third-degree burns over 49 percent of her body. Her mom says kids find these dangerously “outrageous” challenges on social media and Youtube. She is angry and has a message for those behind the sites that post these videos.“They need to delete this mess," Owens said fighting back tears. "It should be censored. That’s nothing that a kid should come across. I could have lost my baby, by the grace of God she’s alive. If I wasn’t home, I would have walked in to my baby dead."Owens says Timiyah knew better. So, she is urging parents to monitor their kids, their friends and their internet and social media platforms.Timiyah will likely be in the hospital for several months and will undergo several more surgeries. 1272

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Wednesday slammed President Donald Trump for his administration's plan to reopen schools amid the pandemic, saying that Trump is offering "nothing but failure and delusions."Biden said he stands by a school reopening plan his campaign released earlier this summer that called for emergency funding for local school districts so they could hire more teachers, psychologists, and other social workers.The former Vice President criticized Trump's inability to pass more school funding legislation through Congress."Mr. President, where are you? Democrats are pressing Equifax to offer more protection to millions of Americans after last year's massive data breach.In a letter Tuesday, Democrats on the House Oversight Committee asked Equifax's interim CEO to offer customers at least three years of credit monitoring and identify theft protection. Equifax has offered one year of those services for free."Given the sensitive nature of the personal information that was stolen — and the ability of criminals to store and use that information for years to come — we believe that the millions of U.S. consumers whose personal information was compromised in the Equifax data breach should receive the most robust form of credit protection and identify theft services available," Democrats wrote in a letter to interim CEO Paulino do Rego Barros.The letter was signed by Representative Elijah Cummings of Maryland and the other 16 Democrats on the committee.Equifax spokeswoman Meredith Griffanti said in a statement to CNN that the credit reporting agency is "engaged with both federal and state regulators and are having ongoing discussions about appropriate remediation for consumers."The Republican chairman of the committee, Representative Trey Gowdy, could not be reached for comment.Related: The Equifax hack could be worse than we thoughtThe personal information of as many as 145 million Americans was exposed in the hack, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers and home addresses.After the data breach was revealed in September, Equifax also offered free credit freezes through June 30 and free credit locks for life.
