KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Johnson County Library is searching for the owner of an old family photo it believes was mistakenly left at the library.A library employee found the photo in the donation bin at the Lackman Library in Lenexa, Kansas."Because of that we don't know who dropped it off, where it came from or who it belongs to," said Josh Neff, an information specialist at the library.The photo was left in the bin in March and the library has been holding on to it ever since."We have been holding on to it hoping that whoever accidentally lost it, would think to come back here and ask about it. But so far nobody has claimed it," said Neff.Now, the library is turning to social media in hopes of finding the photo's owner. On Monday, the library posted the image on Facebook and Twitter."We know the power of social media. We know that it's a great way to spread the message," Neff said. JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi lawmakers are close to erasing the Confederate battle emblem from the 126-year-old state flag. The symbol is under criticism amid nationwide protests against racial injustice. The House and Senate voted Saturday to file a bill to remove the symbol that many see as racist. They could vote on that bill Sunday. A committee would design a new flag including the words “In God We Trust.” Voters would decide in November whether to endorse that design. Religious, education, sports and business leaders are pushing legislators to remove the Confederate symbol. Republican Gov. Tate Reeves said Saturday he will sign a bill to change the flag. 675

Judge Amy Coney Barrett described during her confirmation hearing Tuesday the "personal" and "difficult" conversations her family was forced to have following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis earlier this year.Barrett is the mother of nine children. KANSAS CITY, Kansas – The Kansas Attorney General’s Office Tuesday released indictments against three more officials and entities in connection to the Schlitterbahn Waterpark death in 2016. Jeffrey Wayne Henry, John Timothy Schooley, and Henry & Sons Construction Company, Inc. were indicted by a Wyandotte County Grand Jury.The trio faces reckless second-degree murder charges in addition to aggravated battery and aggravated child endangerment charges stemming from others who rode Verruckt at the company’s Kansas City, Kansas waterpark.Henry was taken into custody Monday by U.S. Marshals in Cameron County, Texas. A spokeswoman for the attorney general’s office said Schooley remains at large.Henry is co-owner of Schlitterbahn and is connected to Henry and Sons Construction Company.Schooley played a key role in the design of Verruckt.It was on Verruckt that then 10-year-old Caleb Schwab died in August 2016.Last week, the attorney general’s office charged the company and its park operations manager at the time of the incident, Tyler Miles, in connection to Schwab’s death.Miles pleaded not guilty in a court hearing in Wyandotte County on Friday. 1189
