LONDON (AP) — An American tourist from Louisiana helped stop a hammer-wielding thief who unsuccessfully tried to steal the Magna Carta at Salisbury Cathedral, working in tandem with a church employee to prevent the man from escaping.Matthew Delcambre, of New Iberia, Louisiana, told The Associated Press that he and his wife Alexis were sightseeing in the southwestern English city when a man tried to shatter the glass encasing the precious manuscript in the church's Chapter House. LOS ANGELES (KGTV) - A man who Los Angeles Police say repeatedly punched two women during a fight with a street vendor is charged with misdemeanor battery, the LA City Attorney’s office said Wednesday. Arka Sangbaran Oroojian, 30, was caught on camera attacking the women in downtown Los Angeles Jan. 26, City Attorney Mike Feuer said. Investigators said Oroojian began arguing with a hot dog vendor at 6th and Spring Streets when two women came to the vendor’s defense. The fought escalated when Oroojian punched one woman, police said. The second woman tripped Oroojian and he fell to the ground, eventually getting to his feet and hitting both women, according to officers. As they rose, police said Oroojian punched them again and ran away. The women suffered injuries including a concussion, broken finger, and bruises. Oroojian turned himself in to Los Angeles Police and is facing five counts of battery. LOS ANGELES — Prosecutors say two men and two teens have been charged in the death of rising rapper Pop Smoke, who was killed during a Los Angeles home-invasion robbery in February. Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey said in a statement Monday that Corey Walker and Keandre Rodgers were charged with murder that occurred during the commission of a robbery and burglary. The two male teens were also charged with murder and robbery in juvenile court.
