SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A stabbing at a College Area bus stop left a man badly injured Friday, authorities reported.The 50-year-old victim was waiting for a bus in the 6900 block of El Cajon Boulevard when the assailant approached and began arguing with him shortly before 11:30 a.m., according to San Diego police.The quarrel ended when the stranger pulled a knife and stabbed the other man in the arm, then fled on foot, Officer Tony Martinez said.Patrol personnel applied a tourniquet to the victim's bleeding arm and performed CPR on him prior to the arrival of paramedics, who took him to a hospital for treatment of serious but apparently non-life-threatening trauma.Witnesses reported that the assailant -- described as a heavyset, heavily tattooed man in his 20s or 30s, wearing a red shirt and black bandana- style mask -- left the area eastbound and appeared to enter a nearby motel, police said. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A man was fatally shot just outside his family's home in the Paradise Hills community of San Diego, a police lieutenant said Saturday.The shooting occurred around 10:35 p.m. Friday outside a home in the 2400 block of Calle Gaviota, said Lt. Anthony Dupree of the San Diego Police Department. Dupree said the shooting victim's family reported to police that the man went outside the home, and a short time later, relatives heard gunshots.Family members went outside and saw the victim down. SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Gusty Santa Ana winds will sweep through San Diego County Monday amid dry conditions, raising the risk of wildfires in the mountains and the inland valleys, according to the National Weather Service.The agency issued a wind advisory that will be in effect until 5 p.m. Monday in the coastal areas and the western valleys.Winds out of the northeast are expected to be between 25-35 mph, with sustained wind gusts potentially reaching 55 mph, forecasters said. Humidity will drop to around 5-10% Monday afternoon with poor overnight recovery.This combination will create an elevated risk of wildfires in the mountains and the western valleys through Tuesday, according to the NWS.
