EL CAJON (CNS) - A 49-year-old man was arrested today on suspicion of fatally shooting a man in an unincorporated area near El Cajon. Daniel Christopher Allen, who lives in the unincorporated area, was booked into the San Diego Central Jail for murder, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.The shooting was reported in the 6000 block of Stallion Oaks Road, southeast of Dehesa Road and northeast of the Sycuan Resort, around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, sheriff's Lt. Thomas Seiver said.Before deputies arrived, an acquaintance of the victim drove him about a mile and a half from the shooting scene, Seiver said.Deputies stopped the vehicle on Stallion Oaks Road near Dehesa Road and found the victim inside suffering from a gunshot wound. It was not immediately clear if Allen is the acquaintance.The victim, whose name and age were not immediately available, was pronounced dead at the scene, Seiver said. 926

E-cigarette maker Juul Labs says they are planning to make a significant "reduction in force" as it looks to the future.The company announced the move in a statement as it also looks to pull out of some international markets as they "have not provided the kind of return necessary given the cost to continue investing in the market."According to the Wall Street Journal, the company is reportedly looking to lay off about 1,200 employees, nearly half its workforce. Earlier this year, the company laid off 1,000 employees, Forbes reported.Last year, at least four lawsuits were filed against the company claiming its ads were targeting young people.They also stopped selling several flavored products in the United States last year.The company also replaced its CEO last year.The company said they are looking to rebuild trust with its key stakeholders and the public."To better serve our mission, we must prioritize how we use our resources to execute on our long-term, focused approach," the company said in a statement. "This will allow Juul Labs to continue to invest in science and evidence capabilities, access control technologies, and future products in core markets that make up a vast majority of our business. Disneyland Park has shut down two cooling towers at its park in Southern California following an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease.Orange County health officials said nine people who visited the Anaheim theme park in September developed the disease.An additional three people who had been to Anaheim but not Disneyland got sick too, said Jessica Good, a spokeswoman for the Orange County Health Care Agency. One patient, who had not visited the park and had additional health issues, died, she said.The 12 patients are between ages 52 and 94, and 10 were hospitalized, she said.CNN has reached out to Disneyland for comment but has not heard back."To date, no additional Legionella cases have been identified with potential exposure in Anaheim after September," Good said. "There is no known ongoing risk associated with this outbreak."Legionnaires disease is a severe form of pneumonia caused by Legionella bacteria, sometimes found in water systems. It is typically contracted by breathing mist from the water that contains it. The source of the mist can be air conditioning units in large facilities, showers or hot tubs. Legionnaires' disease is not contagious between humans.County health officials identified Disneyland Park as a common location of eight of the cases last month, and have been working to identify potential sources, Good said.Disneyland Park informed health officials this month that elevated levels of Legionella had been identified in two of its 18 towers, which were then treated and disinfected.Disneyland took the towers out of service on November 1 and told the health agency it had performed additional disinfecting and testing. It brought the towers back into service November 5, but two days later, they were taken out of service again,she said.Health officials subsequently issued an order that the towers remain shut down until they are verified to be free from contamination. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A Black Indianapolis physician died on Sunday with COVID-19 after she complained of racist treatment from IU Health North Hospital, according to her family. In a now-viral video, Dr. Susan Moore recorded her every step when seeking treatment after contracting COVID-19 on Nov. 29. Moore claimed she had to beg for CT scans and a drug that could significantly reduce her recovery time called remdesivir. "Why do I have to prove that there’s something wrong with me in order for my pain to be treated," Moore wrote on her Facebook post. After receiving two transfusions of remdesivir, Dr. Moore asked for a third because she was in so much pain. But, the white doctor on her case denied her request. Moore said the doctor claimed he didn't feel "comfortable" giving her any more narcotics. The doctor even tried to send her home after she complained of excruciating neck pain."I was crushed. He made me feel like I was a drug addict, and he knew I was a physician," Dr. Moore said in a Facebook video posted on Dec. 4 from her hospital bed. "I don't take narcotics."After speaking with a patient advocate, Moore said she asked to be moved to another hospital. "If they're not going to treat me here properly, send me to another hospital," she claimed. "Next thing I know, I'm getting a stat CT of my neck with and without contrast."The CT showed that Moore's pain was coming from new pulmonary infiltrates in her lungs and pleural effusion, according to Moore. The hospital staff said they would then treat Moore's pain. "I put forward and I maintain if I was white I wouldn't have to go through that," Moore stated. "And that man never came back and apologized."According to Moore, she continued to wait for hours to get the pain medicine that IU North said they would give her. When she complained to nurses, they fired back, allegedly claiming they "have more patients than you, you know?""This is how Black people get killed. When you send them home and they don't know how to fight for themselves," Moore said toward the end of the video. "Being Black up in here, this is what happens."After talking further with IU Healthcare's chief medical officer, Moore updated that she received much better treatment. She was still sent home, but less than 12 hours later, she was back in the hospital. This time, she went to St. Vincent Hospital in Carmel, where she said, "I am getting very compassionate care. They are offering me pain medicine.""Those people were trying to kill me. Clearly, everyone has to agree they discharge me way too soon," Moore wrote. The 54-year-old's seventh and final update said, "On (BiPAP) being transferred to ICU."Moore leaves her parents, both suffering from dementia, and her 19-year-old son, Henry Muhammed. After graduating from Carmel High School last year, Muhammed enrolled at Indiana University at Bloomington. But, after his grandparents and mother fell ill, he had to put his schooling aside to aide them. (KGTV) -- A man in his mid-30s was killed Sunday afternoon after the SUV he was driving struck a tree in El Cajon.El Cajon police say the driver of a 1998 Ford Explorer drifted onto a center divider then slammed into the tree on N Second Street near Greenfield Drive at 1:49 p.m.The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released pending family notification.Surveillance video from a nearby store shows the impact of the crash and the aftermath. Several good Samaritans ran over to try to help the driver until police arrived.N Second Street between Persimmon Avenue and Greenfield Drive was closed off for approximately four hours as police investigated.Police said it was unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
