SANTEE, Calif. (CNS) - Gov. Gavin Newsom signed into law a bill authored by Sen. Brian Jones, R-Santee, which extends immunity from liability for local governments that operate skate parks, the lawmaker announced Tuesday.Senate Bill 1003 follows a similar bill Jones wrote in 2015 while he was a member of the Assembly that provided a four-year immunity window for municipally operated skate parks. SB 1003 makes that immunity permanent."Senate Bill 1003 grants much-needed immunity from liability for communities that operate skate parks," Jones said. "Local skateboarders and sport riders get a safer place than the streets to carve, do McTwists or ollies, and taxpayers are not going to be liable for the occasional mishap that is inherent to all active sports."SB 1003 was sponsored by the County of San Diego, and as an urgency measure, goes into effect immediately.The bill was co-authored by Sens. Saudi Arabia has confirmed the death of missing Saudi journalist and Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi in an announcement on Saudi state TV.The Saudis have set up a commission that will investigate Khashoggi's death and will have one month to release a report, according to state TV. The commission will consist of national security officials, the foreign ministry and the interior ministry.Discussions between Khashoggi and those who met him during arrival at the consulate in Istanbul led to an argument and physical altercation that led to his death, the state TV report said.A total of 18 Saudi nationals have now been detained for investigation, the Saudi Press Agency reported.In the announcement on Saudi State TV, it said a royal order has been issued to release Maj. Gen. Ahmed al-Asiri from his duty as the deputy of the intelligence services.Asiri was believed to be the chief architect of the war with Yemen. He was previously the Saudi-led coalition spokesman in the kingdom's war against Yemen's Houthi rebels.The two-star general's position as spokesman made him a household name and he was soon part of the Crown Prince's inner circle.According to several sources, he chose the team involved in Khashoggi's disappearance.In their announcement the Saudis expressed deep regret over Khashoggi's death and the "painful developments" in the case. (KGTV) — San Diego Sheriff's deputies say a father has been arrested months after the death of his infant child in Santee.Daniel Charles Marshall, 34, was arrested on Thursday by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force and booked into San Diego Central jail for murder and child abuse resulting in death, according to the Sheriff's Department (SDSO).On April 22, 2020, Santee Fire Department responded to a home in the 8600 block of Paseo Del Rey in Santee to a report of a seven-month-old infant in medical distress. SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Airbnb announced Thursday that it’s banning all parties and events at the listings on its website to comply with limits on gatherings during the coronavirus pandemic.The San Francisco-based company says the party ban applies to all future bookings on Airbnb and it will remain in effect indefinitely until further notice.Additionally, Airbnb says the occupancy at its listings will be capped at 16 people. Though, the company says it’s considering a potential exception process for specialty and traditional hospitality venues, like boutique hotels.“We also understand that 16 is not a magic number, and issues can occur with groups of any size,” wrote the company. “To be clear, we are not sanctioning smaller gatherings with this policy and all community members are expected to comply with local health restrictions on gatherings. We are capping guests at 16 in these large properties as one step amongst several, all designed to mitigate any efforts to misuse an Airbnb for a party.”Airbnb says guests will be informed about its party rules and told that they may be “legally pursued” by the company if they violate the policy.Unauthorized parties have actually always been prohibited at Airbnb listings and the company says 73% of its listings already ban them in their house rules.Over the last year or two, Airbnb has begun imposing stricter limits, starting with a global ban on “party houses,” or listings that create persistent neighborhood nuisance. And when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, a new policy was introduced that required all users to adhere to local coronavirus mandates.“However, in many large jurisdictions, public health mandates on gatherings have changed – and in some places swung back and forth in response to the changing rates of COVID cases – as have regulations on bars, clubs and pubs,” wrote Airbnb. “Some have chosen to take bar and club behavior to homes, sometimes rented through our platform.
