Many of the thousands of migrants waiting to claim asylum are realizing their dream to live in America may be a tougher road than they imagined, especially following Sunday’s clash at the border, involving a group of migrants and U.S. officials.Conditions are horrid in one camp in the border city of Tijuana, Mexico, where people have been living in tents for weeks in a lot that once was a baseball complex. Many of them dream of starting a new live in the U.S., but those dreams are fading.Maria Elena Reyes waited in line for hours, hoping a volunteer may have a clean shirt. For her, these living conditions, and even the month-long journey from Honduras, all seemed worth it to get to the border. But that’s when she says she had hope of finding asylum in America.“To look for a better life, to help my grandchildren who are in Honduras and my daughters, and for myself,” Reyes says.But like others at the camp, her optimism seems to fade with each passing day in the tent city, especially after what happened Sunday, when U.S. border agents used tear gas on a group of migrants.“I would say after that incident, which was really bad, a lot of doors closed,” Reyes says.Already worn out from the long journey, many of these migrants are now fearful of the US, scared of what could happen at the border, even if they apply for asylum the legal way.Sarahi Nunes and her 3-year-old daughter, Genesis, thought getting into the US would be easier, but knowing there’s a months-long wait just for an official asylum appointment, makes her doubt whether she'll ever obtain her American dream.“Yes, at first, that was the plan,” Nunes says. “But now, I see how difficult it is for people asking for asylum.” She's already started the process of applying for a work visa to stay here, in Mexico. She says living in Mexico would still be a step up from her life in Honduras.Reyes is also hopeful she could find a job in Mexico, but she says if she doesn't in the next week, she will go back to Honduras.“It was a very hard battle to get here,” Reyes says. “I would not like to go back empty-handed.”  Reyes says she doesn’t want to give up, but knowing if she does return home, that’s what it will feel like. 2222

Microsoft said in a blog post on Thursday that it has discovered efforts by Iran, China and Russia to launch cyberattacks on the presidential campaigns of Joe Biden and Donald Trump.Tom Burt, Microsoft’s corporate vice president for customer security and trust, wrote that Microsoft was able to stop the cyberattacks from happening, and have notified the campaigns of the three countries’ efforts.“We disclose attacks like these because we believe it’s important the world knows about threats to democratic processes,” Burt wrote. “It is critical that everyone involved in democratic processes around the world, both directly or indirectly, be aware of these threats and take steps to protect themselves in both their personal and professional capacities. We report on nation-state activity to our customers and more broadly when material to the public, regardless of the actor’s nation-state affiliation. We are taking extra steps to protect customers involved in elections, government and policymaking.”Last month, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence released a statement outlining efforts by Iran, China and Russia to attempt to undermine this year’s presidential election.“Ahead of the 2020 U.S. elections, foreign states will continue to use covert and overt influence measures in their attempts to sway U.S. voters’ preferences and perspectives, shift U.S. policies, increase discord in the United States, and undermine the American people’s confidence in our democratic process,” William Evanina, director of the United States National Counterintelligence and Security Center, said. "They may also seek to compromise our election infrastructure for a range of possible purposes, such as interfering with the voting process, stealing sensitive data, or calling into question the validity of the election results. However, it would be difficult for our adversaries to interfere with or manipulate voting results at scale.”As part of Evanina’s assessment, he said that China and Iran were attempting to seek a favorable outcome for Biden, while Russia was working to ensure a favorable outcome for Trump.“As Americans, we are all in this together; our elections should be our own,” Evanina previously said. “Foreign efforts to influence or interfere with our elections are a direct threat to the fabric of our democracy. Neutralizing these threats requires not just a whole-of-government approach, but a whole-of-nation effort.”The Trump campaign responded to Microsoft’s cybersecurity report."As President Trump’s re-election campaign, we are a large target, so it is not surprising to see malicious activity directed at the campaign or our staff,” Thea McDonald, deputy national press secretary for the Trump campaign, said. “We work closely with our partners, Microsoft and others, to mitigate these threats. We take cybersecurity very seriously and do not publicly comment on our efforts.”The Biden campaign also responded to the report."We are aware of reports from Microsoft that a foreign actor has made unsuccessful attempts to access the non-campaign email accounts of individuals affiliated with the campaign," the campaign said. Men may have a harder time maintaining friendships during the pandemic.Experts say it’s because social distancing guidelines have forced men out of their normal ways of communicating.“Men tend to construct their friendships on a shoulder-to-shoulder basis and women tend to use a face-to-face basis, so guys will get together and do things, like sports, going to the sports bar, activities,” said University of Maryland Professor Geoffrey Greif, author of the book “Buddy System: Understanding Male Friendships.”Greif says it's rare for men to reach out to each other just to talk. Men tend to be more cautious about how much they share.They'll also only ask to do something together so many times before the invitation is returned.“We're just not socialized to feel comfortable. We don't want to seem like we are stalking another guy for a friendship. Men don't want to appear too emotionally needy,” said Greif.There are some activities that we can still do while social distancing.Greif says you can also try getting together over Zoom to watch sports or play a game.Recognize it's not going to be as good as in person, but keep in mind that eventually the pandemic will end. 1186

Mario Batali is being sued by a woman who claims the celebrity chef kissed and groped her at a Boston restaurant and bar last year, according to court documents obtained by CNN.The suit comes several months after Batali first?faced allegations of sexual misconduct.Natali Tene states in a suit filed this week that Batali rubbed her breasts, kissed her repeatedly and groped her buttocks and groin area during an encounter at a Boston-area restaurant in April 2017.Tene did not know Batali personally but was familiar with his career, according to the suit.She says when Batali offered to take a selfie with her, she accepted. The alleged assault happened when Tene was in his proximity under the belief they would be taking a photograph together, the suit says.Representatives for Batali have not returned CNN's request for comment regarding the suit."What Mario Batali did to Natali was disgusting and vile," Tene's lawyers, Eric Baum and Matthew Fogelman, said in a joint statement to CNN.
