OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Police have identified the man accused of firing a gun at an Oklahoma City restaurant on Thursday evenign. Police say Alexander Tilghman, 28-years-old of Oklahoma City, opened fire Thursday at 6:30 p.m. local time at Louie's restaurant on Lake Hefner. In an update sent around 9:30 a.m. police say officers found Tilghman dead outside the restaurant. Police say he was shot by two citizens.Witnesses say the men were yelling at the suspect to put his gun down, but he had large headphones on and was pacing near the restaurant. Witnesses say the suspect raised his gun at the men, and that's when the armed citizen shot Tilghman.Police say three people were shot: A 39-year-old woman and two female juveniles. All three are reportedly in good condition.A fourth person was injured, according to police, after falling and breaking his arm after the shooter started firing his gun.Oklahoma City police are holding a press conference at 11:30 a.m. local time.  1024

One of the leading COVID-19 vaccine candidates produced virus antibodies in every patient tested in a trial conducted earlier this year, according to a report in the New England Journal of Medicine.The published results describe a successful Phase I testing for the vaccine, which is being produced by biotech company Moderna. The vaccine is currently in Phase II of testing, and Dr. Anthony Fauci said Tuesday that the vaccine would move to the third and final phase by the end of the month.According to the New England Journal of Medicine report, Phase I was conducted in 45 test subjects. Subjects were divided into three groups of 15, each of which was given different doses of the vaccine.Every subject received two shots, each administered 28 days apart.According to the New England Journal of Medicine, the vaccine "induced anti–SARS-CoV-2 immune responses in all participants."The Journal did note that half of the participants indicated they suffered from side effects that included "fatigue, chills, headache, myalgia, and pain at the injection site," most of which came after the second injection. Three of the participants who received the highest dosage of the vaccine reported at least one "severe" side effect.Fauci has said that the US is currently producing the top vaccine candidates with the hopes of distributing them when they are cleared for use by the FDA. OCILLA, Ga. — A nurse at an immigration detention center in Georgia says authorities performed questionable hysterectomies, refused to test detainees for COVID-19 and shredded medical records.Advocacy group Project South has filed a complaint with the Homeland Security Department's internal watchdog that relies heavily on the nurse's words.That nurse, Dawn Wooten, worked at the Irwin County Detention Center in southern Georgia. In addition to holding detainees for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, it also serves those arrested by the U.S. Marshals and the Irwin County Sheriff's Department.In her complaint, Wooten called a gynecologist who works outside the facility, "the uterus collector." She claimed that nearly every inmate who saw the doctor received a hysterectomy and claimed the doctor removed the "wrong ovary" on at least one patient.Wooten said it was unclear if the patients — particularly immigrant women — knowingly agreed to the procedure, which would prevent them from having children in the future.She says she saw a sick-call nurse shred a box of detainee complaints without looking at them.Wooten claimed she was eventually fired from the facility for raising concerns about COVID-19. She said she was demoted after she missed time for presenting symptoms of the virus.She claims that inmates were likely infected with the virus at a rate much higher than reported because the facility declined to use two rapid-testing COVID-19 machines.
