HUA HIN, Thailand, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- With a delighted and relieved smile, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao waved to the crowd on Sunday at the airport in Thai resort Hua Hin before he left for home.     The premier has successfully finished his visit to Thailand after attending a series of summit meetings related to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) during the past three days. BEIJING, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- An awarding ceremony was held here Wednesday to honor 214 outstanding demobilized soldiers in the country.     President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met with the retired servicemen at the Great Hall of the People and congratulated them on their achievements. BEIJING, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- China's premium income hit 936.09 billion yuan (137.1 billion U.S. dollars) in the first 10 months, according to China Insurance Regulatory Commission.     The figure represented an increase of 78 billon yuan, or 9.09 percent, over that in the first nine months.     During January to October period, premium of property and casualty insurance was 243.18 billion yuan, and 692.9 billion yuan, respectively.     Total asset of the country's insurance sector stood at 3.83 trillion yuan by the end of October.

BEIJING, Dec. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping on Friday called for continued efforts to further study and practice the Scientific Outlook on Development.     Xi made the remarks at a meeting on further studying and practicing the Scientific Outlook on Development, which emphasizes the well-being of people and comprehensive, coordinated and sustainable development.     The CPC launched an 18-month campaign to study and implement the outlook in September last year.     The campaign had so far yielded positive results, Xi said.     The Vice President urged relevant authorities to focus on improving social harmony and stability as well as party building at grassroots levels.     They should also focus on speeding up the transformation of the country's economic development mode, and should make meticulous plans for next year's work, in order to push forward reforms and development and maintain stability, he said.
