BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on Thursday called for solid efforts to study and promote the spirit of the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee.

He called for efforts to start a new batch of projects for development, innovation and people's well-being, particularly in the fields of education, health, as well as elderly and child care.

The first session of WNEVC was held last July in Hainan's Bo'ao, with more than 1,500 entrepreneurs, experts, scholars, and government representatives, as well as over 100 NEV-related enterprises across the world in attendance.

"Technological innovation has played a leading role in China's development during the 13th Five-Year Plan period, and it will take a larger proportion in China's future economic development," said Carlos Miguel Pereira, Cuban ambassador to China, noting that the 14th Five-Year Plan is a manifestation of CPC's determination to lead China's development.
