While many Americans do it, taking a selfie with a completed ballot is considered a crime in most states. According to CNN, there are laws prohibiting taking or distributing photos of your ballot while at the polls in 27 states. For voters in 23 states and DC, photos from the voting booth are generally permissible. A person could be charged with a felony in Illinois and Wisconsin for taking photos at the ballot booth.While some of the 23 states have previously had laws prohibiting photography of ballots, there have been recent court rulings questioning the constitutionality of such laws. One example came during 2016 in New Hampshire. The state argued that the law was necessary to prevent ballot photography to be used as a means of voter fraud or intimidation. The plaintiffs argued that prohibiting ballot photography denied voters their free speech rights. A federal appeals court ruled 3-0 that the state had not shown that it was using the least restrictive means to achieve a compelling state interest of prohibiting voting fraud. According to the ruling, New Hampshire Secretary of State William Gardner was unable to show examples of how ballot photography led to voting fraud. "The restriction affects voters who are engaged in core political speech, an area highly protected by the First Amendment," the ruling states. "There is an increased use of social media and ballot selfies in particular in service of political speech by voters. A ban on ballot selfies would suppress a large swath of political speech."Indiana also had a law passed in 2015 that would have made ballot selfies a felony struck down by a federal judge.In Colorado, the state made it legal in 2017 to take ballot pictures. But in Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas and West Virginia, it is illegal to take photos at the polling place, according to CNN. In Alaska, Louisiana, Massachusets, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, Utah and Vermont, pictures at the ballot box are okay, but cannot include a photo of a completed ballot.  To see a state-by-state breakdown of the laws regulating ballot selfies, click here.  2343

While having debates on competing networks might have made things challenging for swing voters, there are not many undecided voters left, according to polls. In a national poll released by "The Hill" yesterday, the survey found that 7% of voters remain undecided. On one network, Joe Biden calmy responded to questions from a socially-distanced audience in Pennsylvania. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump sparred with NBC News host Savannah Guthrie in a competing town hall there.The dueling town halls were held in lieu of a traditional town hall debate. The debate was scrapped after the Commission on Presidential Debates said that tonight’s debate would be held virtually. Trump opted out of a virtual debate, prompting Biden to schedule a forum on ABC News. Yesterday, Trump announced he too would hold a network-televised debate, this time on the NBC family of networks.Trump and Biden plan on debating next week in person for the final time. Biden said he would like to see Trump tested for the coronavirus at the next debate.“Yeah," Biden said when asked if Trump should be tested. "By the way, before I came up here, I took another test, I've been taking it every day, the deep test, you know, the one, they go in both [noses]. Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers and the Department of Health Services issued a new order Tuesday limiting the capacity of bars, restaurants and stores in the state to 25% on Tuesday, as Wisconsin becomes a hot spot for COVID-19 in the U.S.Evers directed DHS Secretary-Designee Andrea Palm to issue the order Tuesday afternoon.The order is capping capacity to 25% in public spaces beginning on Thursday. Gatherings in indoor spaces without an occupancy limit are limited to 10 people."We're seeing increased COVID-19 hospitalizations across the state, and every region is reporting current and imminent hospital staffing shortages in one or more of their facilities," Palm said.Wisconsin has become a hot spot for coronavirus cases in the country after schools reopened this fall. The state has tallied record numbers of cases, hospitalizations and deaths in recent days. Areas that have been hit particularly hard include the state's two largest cities — Milwaukee and Madison — as well as smaller cities like Fox Valley, Green Bay and Wausau.The governor's top attorney, Ryan Nilsestuen, says he's confident the restrictions will withstand legal challenges from the GOP-controlled legislature. It could explain why kids are less impacted by COVID-19.Testing on mice found these kinds of "live" vaccines boosted cells' ability to fight off sepsis.Sepsis is ultimately what's causing organ problems and inflammation in many adults who have contracted the novel coronavirus.“The idea behind it is, if these live attenuated vaccines are inducing the cells that will inhibit or dampen the sepsis, that gives the regular immune response time enough to get rid of the infection,” said Dr. Paul Fidel, a professor at LSU.The results of the "live" vaccine test on mice were undeniable.Researchers also point to what happened on the USS Roosevelt, where more than 1,200 sailors contracted the virus. A few were hospitalized and one died.All U.S. Navy recruits get MMR vaccinations.The professors are starting a grassroots campaign for adults to get the MMR booster.“If we're right, wow you would have the cells that would inhibit or dampen the sepsis if you ever got infected with COVID and if we're wrong, so OK you have a booster for MMR and that can’t hurt you at all,” said Fidel.“I think this concept with live attenuated vaccines inducing this response that controls the inflammation as opposed to targeting the actual viral infection, it’s going to serve as a stop gap measure until we get a real legitimate vaccine developed that’s been shown to be efficacious and safe,” said Dr. Mairi Noverr, a professor at Tulane’s school of medicine.The MMR vaccine theory is being tested on primates now.
