JAMUL (CNS) - A small plane landed in thick grass southeast of Jamul Casino in Jamul Wednesday night, but no one was injured.Deputies received a call of a downed plane about 7:50 p.m. off Campo Road, according to Lt. Glen Twyman of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. The type of plane was not released.It was not immediately clear if the plane made an emergency landing or crashed, but neither occupant was injured.Fire crews remained on scene after the crash to prevent any of the nearby dry grass from catching on fire, Twyman said. 550

The Wisconsin Elections Commission said the deadline is "no later" than 5 p.m., and they rejected West's attorney's claims that they had until 5:01 p.m. to file. Kanye did not gather enough signatures by the deadline to appear on the ballot in Missouri or his home state of Wyoming. (AP) — Searchers have found a hiker who has been missing in the mountains north of Los Angeles for a week.Authorities say 73-year-old Eugene Jo was found alive Saturday by one of 11 search-and-rescue crews that have been searching the San Gabriel Mountains for him.Sgt. Greg Taylor with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's department says cellphone coverage is spotty in the mountains, so he has no immediate word on Jo's condition. He says Jo was being transported to a hospital to be examined.Jo was hiking with a group to the 8,000-foot (2,438-meter) summit of Mount Waterman on June 22 when he became separated from them.Taylor said more than 70 people have been searching for him in the mountains. 728

JULIAN, Calif. (KGTV) -- More than 1,600 people will be without power in Julian Wednesday as San Diego Gas and Electric crews work to replace equipment. The power company said power will be turned off from noon to 5 p.m. to accommodate the work. “To minimize impact on schools, the planned outage is occurring on a day when schools in the area are scheduled to get out early,” the company said. The company also warned that the work may take longer than expected should any weather conditions or unforeseen events unfold.SDG&E says customers in the area should unplug all sensitive electrical equipment to prepare.
