SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — A 10-year-old boy who allegedly fired two rounds from a shotgun at San Diego Police officers after barricading himself in a Southcrest backyard shed is in custody, police say.Family members at the home in the 4000 block of Boston Ave., about a block north of Caesar Chavez Elementary School, called police at about 9 a.m. after the 10-year-old armed himself with a knife and hammer.When police arrived, the child ran and hid in a shed with a shotgun, SDPD said. The child fired two rounds at officers, according to police, but no one was injured.The 10-year-old barricaded himself for nearly two hours, before surrendering to police peacefully.SDPD said the child will be taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation.The shotgun was recovered at the scene, police said, and investigators plan to look into how the child came into possession of the weapon.10News is monitoring this breaking news story. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - A couple who evacuated from the Woolsey Fire in Los Angeles says their Airbnb hosts kicked them out of their unit and cleaned out all their belongings, forcing them to live with relatives in San Diego.Ben and Jessica Wells said they rented out the Airbnb unit in July, paying in advance through May.The newlywed couple had been living there as they searched for a home to buy.It was a studio apartment located in West Hills, a community on the western edge of the San Fernando Valley, which backed up to where the Woolsey Fire was burning.“I could see the fire burning on the hill. I saw the smoke,” said Ben, who got an evacuation alert on his phone while at the gym.He went home to meet his wife, frantically packing up some important belongings.“We were not trying to check out of the place at all. Obviously things were a mess, clothes were everywhere. We were just trying to basically make sure we had everything we needed just in case everything burnt,” said Jessica.After they left, the Airbnb hosts contacted them to see if they could go inside the unit and turn off the lights. Ben said he agreed to let them in for that purpose.But once inside, owners Larry and Jeri Hannah said they were shocked by what they saw.“I don’t even know how they were living there,” said Larry. “We couldn’t believe the mess we saw.”In addition to the clothes scattered about, the Hannah’s say the grout on the tile floor in the bathroom had been stained black. They said the walls needed painting and some of the flooring needed to be replaced.“When It became obvious that we weren’t going to let them come back then we just decided we were going to clean it up because we didn’t want to leave it like that,” said Larry.In order to do that, they removed all of the Wells’ belongings and told them the rest of their reservation had been canceled.The Wells’ said they agreed to pay through the end of November if they could keep their stuff there. But when Ben arrived on November 17th he said he was surprised to see their belongings strewn across the property.Expensive recording equipment had been left outside, he said. Other belongings had been thrown in trash bags. Some appeared to be missing.“At that point I was in shock, just completely shaken,” said Ben.He grabbed what he could find, not knowing that more of their belongings had been stored in a shed on the property.“Their stuff is all still here,” said Larry.In a statement, a spokesperson with Airbnb wrote ““We are urgently investigating this incident to better understand what happened. There have been more than 400 million guest arrivals in Airbnb listings to date and negative incidents are extremely rare.”  2699

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A family from Chula Vista is desperately looking for their 9-year-old loved one. Erik Ochoa was swept away by the current in Rosarito on Easter Sunday. Ochoa lives in Tijuana with his father. His sisters, Zusel and Hilary live in Chula Vista. The boy was with two other children walking along the beach in Rosarito when they were swept away. One boy made it out of the current and ran to get an adult nearby. The third child washed ashore, lifeless, 25-minutes after going missing. Erik hasn't been seen since. The sisters have been looking for their brother since they heard about what happened. They've been going from Imperial Beach all the way down to Border Field State Park.The Mexican Navy is actively searching on the Mexican side. The U.S. Coast Guard broadcast a message to boaters telling them to be on the lookout. Erik was last seen wearing green shorts and a striped shirt. The family tells 10News the Mexican Navy will search until Sunday.  1008

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Two community boards that review police practices will hold emergency meetings Wednesday and Thursday regarding the San Diego Police Department's de-escalation-of-force policies.The city's Citizens Advisory Board on Police/Community Relations will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, followed by a Thursday evening meeting of the Community Review Board on Police Practices, both of which can be viewed on the city's website and YouTube page.San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer said the goal of both meetings is to "take a serious look at de-escalation recommendations that could be implemented by our department" and "increasing and facilitating further dialogue and understanding between our officers, our men and women who are out there protecting us, and the community."Faulconer said public input is welcome regarding what SDPD policies should be updated or changed."Many are crying out to be heard. We are listening," Faulconer said. "Your city is listening. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- A controversial Target store opened its doors Tuesday night in North Park, on University Avenue at the corner of Ray Street. Not everyone was on board when plans for the two-story Target were announced. North Park residents worried about the impact the retailer would have on local businesses and on parking in an already crowded neighborhood. There was also frustration when Target painted over a popular mural that had been on the side of the building for years. San Diego State University professor Dana Kuhn said economically, Target could have a positive impact on the community by creating jobs and boosting businesses nearby. Kuhn said people spending money at Target would inevitably mean they spend money in surrounding businesses. Kuhn also explained that Target will provided goods and services the community needs and that the money spent will stay in North Park. Target says the new store created 60 jobs and many of the employees do live nearby. Target is officially open as of Tuesday night but a grand opening for the community is scheduled for Sunday, March 17. 1106
