For the first time since the Camp Fire started its deadly rampage 11 days ago, firefighters will get a big assist from rain.The 4 to 6 inches expected later this week will help suppress an inferno that has already killed at least 77 people. It'll also finally improve the heavily polluted and unhealthy air smothering Northern California.But there's a catch: With more than 150,000 acres of newly scorched earth, there's little vegetation to soak up the rain.That means the region is now at risk of mudslides, which could be especially dangerous for firefighters battling the inferno."They're having to fight this fire right now in the mountainous areas -- the ravines, the canyons, very steep, rugged terrain," said Scott McLean, deputy chief for Cal Fire -- the state's forestry and fire protection agency."They're back there on dirt roads, dirt trails, trying to fight this fire. Now it's going to turn into mud, which will be another hazard for them to contend with."Along with mudslides comes the risk of debris flow gushing from the Camp Fire's charred rubble."Recently burned areas could see ash flow ... and even have the potential for debris flow if rain intensity is high enough," the National Weather Service's Sacramento office said.Since the Camp Fire broke out November 8, it's destroyed more than 10,500 homes and torched an area the size of Chicago.Even worse: Fire officials predict the Camp Fire is only halfway done burning. For 11 days, as a series of women testified that Bill Cosby had drugged and sexually assaulted them, the comedian's wife, Camille, stayed away.But on Tuesday, she made her first appearance as his lawyers presented closing arguments in Cosby's retrial on three counts of aggravated indecent assault. Camille Cosby, in a flowing orange-and-white jacket, smiled as she held her husband's arm and walked from an SUV to the Montgomery County Courthouse in Norristown, Pennsylvania.Bill Cosby wore a dark suit as the couple, escorted by court officers, declined to comment.Cosby has pleaded not guilty. This is the comedian's second trial after jurors failed to reach a unanimous verdict in the first case.The core of the case against Cosby comes from Andrea Constand, who says Cosby drugged her and then assaulted her at his home in January 2004. FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Caleb Lowman says he was forced to use his shotgun on his neighbor's three dogs when they escaped their cage and began attacking his goats. “When I came out, I had the shotgun with me with the hopes it wouldn’t have to be used,” Lowman said. Lowman says this isn't the first time the dogs have gotten out and been aggressive. On last Monday, the dogs got out of their fence and attacked the goats in his yard. Photos show the goats suffered bite marks up and down their neck and legs.However, one of the dogs' owners, Jake Hutto, claims his pets have never been aggressive. “I don’t understand how it’s possible to shoot three dogs in the head, to blow their face off," Hutto said.Lowman's family called Animal Control after last week's incident and says they safely returned all three dogs to the neighbors. Five days later, Lowman says it happened again — this time in front of his 13-year-old daughter, Chloe. “I had to go outside and watch basically my babies be attacked by dogs," said Chloe. Lowman says despite his family's efforts, the dogs killed two of the goats. That's when he pulled out his shotgun and killed all three dogs. Hutto came home to find that Animal Control had left his pets in three large trash bags.“There’s nothing more you can do, nothing’s going to bring them back,” Hutto said. Records show several citations had been issued from Animal Control to the dog owners' household. But with two goats and three dogs now gone, Lowman says this isn't what he wanted. "This time it was our goats, Monday it was our goats; if we let that happen again that could have been my children," he said. "It didn’t need to be this way if they just secured their dogs."A spokesperson for Animal Control says this is an active investigation. Lowman claims when he put in his final statement today at Animal Control, he was told two citations would be issued against the dog owners. He says the citations are for dogs menacing and harassing livestock and running at large.  2160
