SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — San Diego State University has extended its stay-at-home order for on-campus students until Sept. 14 at 9 a.m., university officials announced on Monday.SDSU said they have seen "significantly reduced activity" in the College Area over the Labor Day weekend thanks to the current order. Also, SDSU has no reports of any hospitalizations as a result of any positive cases. However, the COVID-19 risk remains within our community, and researchers are still trying to understand potential rebound illness for those who have tested positive but have since recovered," the school said.The extension of the stay-at-home order for on-campus students asks that they stay at the current residences except for essential needs, like medical care, food, exercising, work, or shopping for essentials.With Monday's announcement, a COVID-19 Advisory was also extended until the same time for students living in the College Area. Off-campus students are asked to maintain physical distance and avoid any gatherings.Students can call 2-1-1 or their medical providers and stay home if they become ill. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) -- Six months after closing its doors to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SeaWorld San Diego is reopening through their weekend Zoo Days Bayside BBQ and Brews events. The special event will take place every weekend until SeaWorld can fully open. The park's attractions will be very limited, with guests able to enjoy all outdoor animals exhibits and shows."We’re opening as an accredited zoo and you can come in and enjoy all the live animal presentations we’re world famous for like the Orca Encounter, dolphins, Sea Lions Live and all the outdoor exhibits that people love and miss," said SeaWorld Park President Marilyn Hannes..Among closed signs for indoor exhibits, game rooms and rides, guests will also notice dozens of sanitizer stations, distance markers and download codes for digital park maps spread throughout.Visitors will also be able to continue enjoying the tide pool areas. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) — Some late-night fun is heading to the San Diego Zoo, for the park's "Nighttime Zoo" festivities this summer.The special after-hours celebration runs June 16 - Sept. 2, keeping the zoo's gates open until 8 p.m. for live music, performances, and special animal encounters.Guests can check out trampoline acrobatics, traditional music and dance at Africa Rocks, the roving Chameleons band, or the Jambo! parade on Front Street. SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Senior citizens in Chula Vista lit up the runway at St. Paul's Plaza, a senior living community.It was the center's first fashion show and eight residents were transformed into models. Each had makeup, hair, and wardrobe provided thanks to Macy's. “Today’s fashion show is all about friendships," said Mary Johnson with the community outreach team. "Friendships are just as important as taking good care of yourself, exercising, and good nutrition. As we get older friendships get even more important."Ladies who modeled said the day made them feel special and confident. “A lot of people when they get to be our age don’t want to do anything different.
