Video of an Arizona guitar hero is wowing people around the country.  The guitarist is Ridge Brown, a senior at Ironwood High School in Glendale, Arizona. He played the national anthem for a school assembly and the video posted by his teacher has gone viral, with thousands of clicks and attention from national news outlets. The reason, Ridge is a student with autism. The performance in front of his classmates was the first time he played in public, and he nailed it. "I was a little nervous, but I always felt excited," Ridge told Scripps station KNXV in Phoenix. "Autism can't hold me back because I'm a real rock star." That's the message his dad, Glen Brown, loves to hear. "There's a very, very smart person inside there, trying to get out," Glen said. Glen's mission in life is unlocking that potential. These days, Glen said Ridge loves talking and interacting with people, but that wasn't always the case. Ridge was nonverbal until age three. Music was the thing that finally freed Ridge from his autistic silence when he started singing with the radio. "It helps me express every emotion I have inside my entire brain," Ridge said. Now, he has plans for an encore."If the Suns wanted me to play the National Anthem at the game I'll be doing that," Ridge said. At the end of Ridge's first performance, a thunderous applause warmed dad's heart. "I broke into tears," Glen said. VISTA (CNS) - Law enforcement Wednesday asked for the public's help in finding a suspect wanted in connection with a series of break-ins and attempted break-ins over the past month.Between Oct. 25 and Nov. 20, the same man is believed to have targeted five businesses in Vista -- sometimes successfully, sometimes not -- in seven separate incidents, according to San Diego County Crime Stoppers.The businesses were Tabacinic Chabad Jewish Center at 1930 Sunset Drive; Tiki Mobile Village at 1333 Olive Ave; Maximum Recycling at 430 Olive Ave; and Wholesale Sports Inc. and Get Air Vista, both located at 2755 Dos Aarons Way.The man is suspected of stealing a total of ,500 in cash, a 0 iPad and a carved tiki stump valued at about , in addition to causing about ,000 worth of damages, investigators said.He was described as white or Hispanic, about 5-feet-8 to 5-feet-11, with a thin build and a distinct tattoo on his left forearm. VISTA, Calif. (KGTV)- New details are emerging about a weekend murder investigation at a house in Vista. Neighbors tell 10News that a husband was arrested for shooting his wife and the two had a troubled history. A suspect in this case was arrested Saturday night by members of the San Diego Sheriff's Homicide Unit. Deputies report that he has been identified as fifty-seven-year-old Andrew Thomas Smith of Vista and he has been booked for murder at the Vista Detention Facility. He is being held without bail. The victim's family has been notified of her death. Deputies report that she has been positively identified as Jean Moore Smith, a fifty-nine-year-old resident of Vista and she was Andrew’s wife. (KGTV) - Charges were filed Tuesday against the San Diego County Sheriff’s deputy accused of groping a 14-year-old girl at a Vista restaurant.Prosecutors said Timothy Wilson, 32, was caught on surveillance camera at the Panda Express on Main Street March 21. Video shows Wilson entering the restaurant and grabbing the girl, according to investigators.A Sheriff’s Department employee recognized Wilson from the video and reported him.Wilson is charged with one felony count of lewd act with a 14-year-old, and one felony count of accessing a computer to take data, including the girl's home address. The girl's family lives near the Vista jail where Wilson works and now plans to move.The victim's mother, Janna Tanis, told 10News that her daughter is going to counseling, "She's still trying to process this all. It's very overwhelming; it's shocking and disappointing."A judge ordered Wilson to remain in custody in lieu of 0,000 bail. He is being held at the downtown jail, away from his co-workers at the Vista jail. VISTA (CNS) - A male recently reported missing from Oceanside was hospitalized this morning after he was struck by an SUV in Vista.The collision was reported just before 3 a.m. at 2405 N. Santa Fe Ave., said San Diego County sheriff's Sgt. Kevin Johnston.The pedestrian was struck by a red Dodge Dakota that was southbound on Santa Fe Avenue. ``The driver of the Dodge Dakota looked down briefly and when he looked back up a pedestrian was standing in the middle of the roadway in front of him,'' Johnston said. ``The driver of the Dodge Dakota attempted to swerve but collided with the pedestrian.''Oceanside firefighters provided first aid to the pedestrian who suffered an apparent broken leg and was unconscious with what appeared to be severe head trauma, the sergeant said.He was taken to Palomar Medical Center for treatment, Johnston said.
