CORONADO, Calif. (KGTV) -- A celebration of life was held in Coronado Thursday night for Nicole Quitasol, the San Diego woman killed in a boat fire off Santa Cruz Island. The event was held at Nicky Rottens, and restaurant officials said the celebration of life was also to help the fundraising efforts to support Quitasol’s family. Quitasol was on the dive trip with four family members, her coworkers posted on Facebook. CLEVELAND, Ohio — Longtime radio host John Lanigan quit right in the middle of his WTAM show on Wednesday.If there was a Mt. Rushmore of Cleveland radio hosts, Lanigan would be on it. The outspoken radio personality rose to local fame in the 1970s and 1980s and was the host of the "Prize Movie" on WUAB. COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — Scientists say an enormous chunk of Greenland’s ice cap, estimated to be about 110 square kilometers (42.3 square miles), has broken off in the far northeastern Arctic. For comparison, Manhattan is roughly 22 square miles. They see it as evidence of rapid climate change, which is leading to the disintegration of the Arctic's largest remaining ice shelf. The section broke off a 50-mile long fjord at the front end of the Northeast Greenland Ice Stream, where it flows off the land and into the ocean. One scientist says “we should be very concerned” about the ice loss. In August, a study showed that Greenland lost a record amount of ice during an extra warm 2019. 702

CONIFER, Colo. – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is warning people about leaving their cars unlocked after several incidents, including one caught on video, in which bears have gotten into vehicles.The sheriff’s office posted video on Facebook that showed deputies using a rope to open a car door in Conifer on Monday. A black bear then exits the car and runs off.The deputy recording the scene then shows the interior of the car, which was torn to shreds. The bear also left behind a half-eaten banana.The sheriff’s office said no humans or bears were hurt.  583
