Amazon’s?artificial intelligence ambitions are growing, with rumors surfacing today that it purchased an AI startup focusing on image processing.
Amazon’s dizzying growth has helped fuel a real estate boom in Seattle, for office buildings and apartments. In the last year?Amazon has picked up?several office?buildings in Seattle, while also declaring its intentions to set up shop on the east side of Lake Washington with a?big new Bellevue office.?Those leases alone total more than 1.7 million square feet, about the same size as the company’s original headquarters footprint in South Lake Union.
Amazon’s stream will mirror the TV broadcast, either on CBS or NBC each week, in some ways, but the company is putting its own touches on the games. It starts with a kickoff show hosted by Australian celebrity chef Curtis Stone and former New York Giants running back Tiki Barber that ties in with Amazon’s online shopping network, allowing customers to buy NFL-themed gear.
Among performers is a special team of students led by Lai Xuanzhi, the first physical education teacher hired by Huadu's Qixing Elementary School, a rural area primary school.
Amazon’s request for proposals states a preference for “locations with the potential to attract and retain strong technical talent.”?That’s been a key consideration over the past few months as Amazon officials?scouted each of the cities in the running. Amazon has reportedly finished visiting each of the 20 cities and plans to make its selection and announcement this year.
