After a five-year battle, the father of Las Vegas quintuplets is acquitted of rental fraud charges.The Derricos became instant celebrities in 2013 when they became a family of eleven. The family was featured on both local and national television shows."That's when all hell broke loose," said dad Deon Derrico.Derrico was facing multiple charges, including felonies. Prosecutors alleged the father forged quitclaim deeds to force a change of ownership and collect rent."Nothing seemed to change their minds once they decided I was guilty," said Derrico.Derrico said he cooperated with the investigation all along because he was innocent."The homeowner I bought this from came back later," he said, "...and alleged that I hadn't because they wanted more money."Jurors reached their verdict after a trial that lasted a week. They acquitted Derrico of all but two counts related to notarization of a signature. Prosecutors say they'll reexamine the merits of the case at the next hearing.The family said the case has forever changed their lives.Mom Karen Derrico was pregnant with triplets last year. She says she believes she lost one because of the stress of the upcoming trial."We believe that everything, it happens for a reason," she said. "This was our test for our testimony." 1318

Actor Harry Anderson, best known for his portrayal of Judge Harry Stone in the 80s sitcom "Night Court" was found dead in his home in Asheville, North Carolina on Monday, local police confirmed to WHNS-TV. Asheville Police told the station that no foul play was suspected in his death. Anderson was age 65, and survived by his wife of 18 years Elizabeth Morgan. 379

ALABASTER, Ala. — A photographer in Alabama was able to capture the beauty of a rare yellow cardinal that is taking the internet by storm. Jeremy Black took the photograph of the rare yellow bird in Alabaster, Alabama.According to Geoffrey Hill, a bird curator at Auburn University in Alabama, the bird is a rare male northern cardinal that has a "one in a million" genetic mutation that makes its red feathers turn yellow. Additionally, the mutation is so rare, that only one is seen each year in the United States."This yellow cardinal displays a rare mutation causes the metabolic process to produce a different type of pigment than the typical red coloration," Black wrote on his Facebook page.Black says that he was able to photograph the yellow cardinal after his friend, Charlie Stephenson, noticed the bird at her feeder in January. According to National Geographic, on February 17, Black spent five hours in Stephenson's backyard with a camera in hand, hoping the beautiful bird would make a second appearance. "As soon as it landed, I was starstruck," Black told National Geographic. After relocating most of the Republican National Convention to Jacksonville, Florida, President Donald Trump announced he has canceled the Jacksonville portion of the GOP convention for next month due to the spread of the coronavirus in Florida."I looked at my team and I said the timing for this event is not right, just not right with what's happened recently, the flare up in Florida,, to have a big convention," Trump said Thursday. "It's not the right time. It's really something that for me I have to protect the American people. That's what I've always done."A few convention activities will remain in North Carolina, Trump confirmed.Trump and Republicans opted to pick up and move most convention activities from Charlotte to Jacksonville after North Carolina’s governor would not commit to easing social distancing mandates for the convention.Trump said he still plans on delivering an acceptance speech during the convention week.While the Democratic Party hasn't officially canceled its Milwaukee convention for next month, it is encouraging delegates to stay home.
