Wrapping Christmas presents can be time-consuming, but there are some tricks to get it done faster, so you can focus on enjoying the holiday season. It’s common to cut wrapping paper too short or to not have enough paper left to wrap a gift. Giftwrapping expect Kammy Witulski says don’t throw it out. Instead, turn the gift sideways and you should be able to wrap with no issues. If you don’t have wrapping paper or if it’s too expensive, Witulski says there’s nothing wrong with using tissue paper. “Tissue paper comes in really nice packaging these days,” said Witulski. “You can get multiple designs in one package for just a few dollars. And it's usually between 20 to 30 sheets per package and that's plenty for you to do a lot of giftwrapping."However, you’ll need to remember to use two to three sheets, so you don’t see the gift and the tissue doesn't rip. Soft items like clothes can be hard to wrap, especially if you don’t have a box. Witulski suggests using two sheets of tissue. Roll the item, place it on the tissue and then start to roll up the clothes into the tissue, making it look like a piece of candy. Use ribbon to tie the ends, and it's the perfect little Christmas treat.Lastly, if the edges of your presents look a little wonky because the they're not crisp and clean, Witulski says to hide your lack of wrapping skills by using double sided tape, so nobody will notice mismatched folds. 1425

 SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Strong and gusty Santa Ana winds, low humidity and high temperatures will persist Friday, with a red flag warning denoting a strong risk of wildfire in effect for the San Diego County mountains and valleys.The National Weather Service issued a red flag warning that went into effect at 10 a.m. Thursday in the county mountains and valleys and lasts until 10 p.m. Friday. The NWS also issued a high wind warning for the county mountains and valleys that remains in effect until 6 p.m. Friday.Along with low humidity levels, the strong Santa Ana winds blowing north to northeast are to blame for the fire danger, with winds of 20 to 30 mph in the forecast and gusts near 55 mph possible near the top of the county mountains, according to the NWS. Humidity was expected to drop to 3-8 percent Friday.Fuels are very dry and fires will grow rapidly and be difficult to control upon ignition, according to the Santa Ana Wildfire Threat Index.Warm seasonal temperatures were also expected to add to the potential fire danger. High temperatures Friday will be 81 to 86 degrees in the western valleys, 73 to 78 near the foothills and 60 to 69 in the mountains, NWS forecasters said.With the heightened fire danger, authorities recommended that residents avoid outdoor burning and have emergency preparedness kits in order."An emergency can happen at any time," a forecaster said in a statement on the Santa Ana Wildfire Threat Index Website. "Clean debris away from your house. Charge your cell phone and make sure you have plenty of gas."Low humidity with poor overnight recovery will continue through at least the middle of next week and another round of gusty Santa Ana winds is expected Sunday and Monday, NWS forecasters said. 1754

 People around the U.S. experienced some internet downtime on Monday. The outage was brief and service has been restored.The culprit was a configuration issue from Level 3, a telecommunications and internet service provider owned by CenturyLink. In a statement to CNN Tech, CenturyLink said a "configuration error" disrupted service and technicians restored service in 90 minutes.CenturyLink declined to provide further details.Though Level 3 was responsible for the issue, it affected other internet providers like Comcast. That's because Level 3's infrastructure delivers content for other internet services.Comcast said the service disruption to its Xfinity internet service has been resolved.According to reports from Down Detector, a website that monitors internet outages, Comcast and Level 3 connectivity was impacted nationwide beginning around 10 a.m. Pacific.Other internet service providers including Spectrum, Verizon, and AT&T showed a spike in connectivity issues, too, though they were not as widespread. (AT&T has agreed to acquire CNN's parent company Time Warner, and the deal is pending regulatory approval.) It's unclear if the spikes were related to the Level 3 outage.The website does not provide numbers of people affected.Following public complaints of widespread outages, rumors temporarily circulated online that the outage was a coordinated hack of some sort.
