UPDATE 10:40 P.M.(KGTV) -- At least four people are dead and 15 people were injured after a shooting at the Garlic Festival Sunday evening in Gilroy, police said Sunday night during a press conference. Officials said the suspect entered the event through a neighboring creek and used a tool to cut into the fencing surrounding the festival. At about 5:41 p.m., there were reports of gunfire at the north side of the festival area.Gilroy Police officers staged in the north side were able to engage the suspect in less than a minute, said Gilroy Chief Police Scot Smithee. (KGTV) — San Diego deputies on Sunday asked the public for help finding a missing 72-year-old at-risk woman.San Diego Sheriff's Department says Lorraine Craw disappeared from her home near Sohail Street in Lakeside on Sunday. She suffers from dementia and doesn't have a purse or identification on her. She will not know who she is, the department added.Craw is described as a white female, 5' tall, weighing 160 pounds, and with grey hair. U.S. Marshals arrested a man they say paid ,000 to come from Dubai, United Arab Emirates to Florida to have sex with a 7-year-old.William Ball is a music teacher at the Swiss International Scientific School in Dubai, but is from Mississippi.The federal indictment only lists the charges and does not give details about the alleged crime, but during a bond hearing in federal court in Tampa, the prosecutor explained that Hall was using the internet and a cell phone to set up and meet a 7-year-old.The prosecutor said he paid ,000, bought a plane ticket and traveled to meet the child.When he was apprehended, the prosecutor says he had items for a child, condoms and lubricant with him.The prosecutor also said they have extensive internet conversations regarding the case, which is being handled by the Department of Homeland Security.He is being charged with soliciting a minor for sex and child pornography. 923

United Airlines is sending layoff warnings to 36,000 employees, nearly half its U.S. staff. It's the clearest signal yet of how deeply the COVID-19 pandemic is hurting the airline industry. United officials said Wednesday that they still hope to limit the number of layoffs by offering early retirement, but they have to send notices this month to comply with a law requiring that workers get 60 days' notice ahead of mass job cuts. The furloughs would include 11,000 flight attendants, 11,000 customer service and gate agents, 5,500 maintenance workers and 2,250 pilots. United officials said the notices cover 45% of its U.S. employees.Air travel in the U.S. dropped about 95% by mid-April. It has recovered slowly but remains down about 75% from a year ago. 768

VALLEY CENTER, Calif. (KGTV) - A North San Diego County resident resorted to Wild West measures after he was the victim of a crime, creating "Wanted: Dead or Alive" posters to find a thief.The San Diego Sheriff’s Office says approximately ,800 worth of items ranging from power tools to a mountain bike were stolen from a home on Valley Center Road on February 16.SDSO was working the case when the homeowner told deputies he had hung posters with the suspect’s image bearing ‘wanted dead or alive’ and the station’s number around town.“We don’t encourage vigilantism,” said Sgt. Russell Ryan.Ryan says SDSO asked the man to remove the posters but the man claimed he was exercising his first amendment rights.SDSO’s Valley Center substation took to Twitter to clarify they were, in fact, looking for the suspect but there was not a death warrant for alleged thief.Deputies were able identify the suspect as 23-year-old Jose Martinez, thanks to the homeowner's surveillance video. Martinez was taken into custody on Wednesday.Martinez is currently being held at the Vista Detention Facility on several burglary-related charges and is believed to be related to other recent thefts, according to SDSO.Sgt.
