INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Eight missing children were rescued in a five-day rescue operation in the Indianapolis area, according to federal authorities.The children saved in "Operation Homecoming" are between the ages of 6 and 17 years old, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service’s Southern District of Indiana.Authorities said the children "were considered to be some of the most at-risk and challenging recovery cases in the area, based on indications of high-risk factors such as victimization of child sex trafficking, child exploitation, sex abuse, physical abuse and medical or mental health conditions."One arrest of an adult subject was made with charges including alleged crimes related to parental kidnapping, intimidation, weapons possession and custodial interference.The children were turned over to the Indiana Department of Child Services for victim assistance and placement.Federal authorities worked with other law enforcement groups, including Indianapolis police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.“The Marshals are committed to assisting state and local agencies with locating and recovering endangered missing children to help prevent their falling victim to crimes of violence and exploitation,” said Dan McClain, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Indiana. “The message that we wish to convey to the missing children and their families is that we will use every resource at our disposal to find you.”This story was originally published by Thalia Brionez at KXXV. 1541

It may take until September to contain the largest fire in California history, which is now nearly the size of Los Angeles.So far, two firefighters have been injured while fighting the Mendocino Complex Fire, which consists of two fires -- the Ranch Fire and the River Fire -- in Northern California. The pair have burned 292,692 acres and was 34 percent contained as of Tuesday evening.The colossal fire altogether has destroyed 75 residences, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, known as Cal Fire.Cal Fire estimated that full containment could take until September 1. The Mendocino Complex Fire ignited on July 27.Last year's Thomas Fire, which is the second-largest fire in California history, took more than six months to extinguish after burning 281,893 acres in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties. 852

INDIANAPOLIS -- It was a busy day for police in Greenwood, Indiana on Monday after three accidents involving trains left three people injured. The three are expected to survive. No one was seriously injured in any of the crashes. The first crash happened around 12:30 p.m. in the 700 block of Pushville Road near E. Worthville Road. INDIANAPOLIS (WRTV) -- Police say two women climbed in the drive-thru window at an Indianapolis McDonald's and assaulted an employee because they didn't get their chicken McNuggets. Police were called to the restaurant just after 3 a.m. local time Friday morning.The manager told police he was working the drive-thru window when two women pulled up complaining they did not receive their chicken McNuggets. When the manager told the women they didn't order McNuggets or pay for them, even printing out a receipt to show them, the pair tried to order some at the window. The manager told the women they would have to drive back around and order at the signboard and said, "Have a nice day," before turning his back on them to fill other customer orders, according to police. The women then began pounding on the window and honking their car horn, claiming they had been disrespected.
