DENVER -- In an exclusive interview with Scripps station KMGH in Denver, a veteran Denver police detective has accused Mayor Michael Hancock of sexually harassing her when she worked on Hancock’s security detail in 2011 and 2012. Denver police detective Leslie Branch-Wise says Hancock made inappropriate comments and sent her harassing text messages in 2012, which she provided to KMGH. (KGTV/AP) -- A notorious 86-year-old jewel thief convicted of a theft in Mission Valley is now charged with shoplifting.Doris Payne was arrested July 17 near Atlanta and charged with misdemeanor shoplifting after a Walmart employee said she tried to leave the Chamblee store with items she hadn't paid for.Payne was on probation at the time after pleading guilty in March to a felony shoplifting charge for trying to steal a ,000 necklace from a department store in December. (KGTV) — Del Mar Fairgrounds and city officials met Tuesday to devise a traffic plan with one of the main arteries to the venue closed.Northbound Jimmy Durante Boulevard has been blocked off since a bluff collapse in late April.The road won't reopen until at least June 4, but the county fair opens May 31. "People are going to start going back through the neighborhood, or you're just going to sit in line," said Del Mar resident Jim Murff. Del Mar City Manager Scott Huth said plans include increased signage to instruct fairgoers to stay on Interstate 5 to the Via de la Valle exit. He said the city would also hire "flaggers" to direct drivers past the stop signs in its beachfront neighborhood, north to Via de la Valle. "Even with the flaggers that delay is not going to be as efficient as getting off (the freeway) at Via de la Valle," Huth said. Annie Pierce, a spokeswoman for the fairgrounds, said the fair would operate at least three days while northbound Jimmy Durante Boulevard is closed. She noted, however, that the opening few days of the fair are generally slower. 1107
