(KGTV) - Two girls were hit and injured by a pickup truck in Chula Vista Monday afternoon, officers said.The crash happened about 3:45 p.m. on East H Street at Terra Nova Drive, just east of Interstate 805. The location is near a shopping center with a Taco Bell and Jack in the Box, and Clear View Elementary School. Ambulances rushed the girls, who appeared to be teenagers, to Rady Children’s Hospital. They were both conscious, according to Chula Vista Police.The driver of the silver Toyota Tacoma who hit the girls stopped, police said. Now nearby schools are reminding parents to stay vigilant. Chula Vista Police said last Monday, a woman in her 20’s was exercising on the stairs at Otay Park. But on her way down, someone pushed her from behind, knocking her unconscious.The perpetrator then raped her, stole her things, and ran.When she woke up, she managed to flag someone down at the park, who then called 9-1-1.It has been seven days into the investigation. But the Chula Vista police department says the perpetrator is still at large. Detectives are now reviewing and enhancing several pieces of video evidence.They are also waiting to get the results of the victim’s rape kit. Last week, Otay Elementary School Pirincipal, Monica Castillo sent a letter to parents addressing the recent crime that happened next to school property. 1009

(KGTV) -- A card room in Chula Vista has built an elaborate outdoor facility as a way to continue its business and comply with San Diego County COVID-19 pandemic-related health guidelines.Seven Mile Casino’s new “card room” is actually a 5,500-square-foot tent, complete with tables distanced six feet apart, Plexiglass partitions to separate players, and touchless hand sanitizing stations around the tent.Before guests can enter the area, they must first go through a health screening. Staff and patrons must wear a face covering at all times while on the property.Seven Mile Casino spokesperson Brad Samuel said they’ve been working with health officials to make sure the casino meets all guidelines. They’re even using their cameras to help with contact tracing.Samuel added, "If someone was to get sick and say later, ‘I was at Seven Mile Casino,’ we can literally show that person and show authorities every single person that that person came into contact with … so they can be notified."Now that the casino has opened its doors, it means about 300 people also have jobs again. 1112
