BEIJING, March 31 (Xinhua) -- A Chinese defense ministry spokesperson said on Thursday that Japan should be more transparent about its military budget.

Japan should cast aside the confrontation mentality and work with China to maintain peace, stability and prosperity in the region, added Wang during the talks.

Li said China and India are important neighboring countries, whose peaceful co-existence and cooperation are conducive to both sides and the world. 

"For quite a long time in the future, China's basic national condition of a large population will not fundamentally change. The population pressure on economic and social development will not fundamentally change. The tensions between population and resources and environment will not fundamentally change," said Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee.

He ordered authorities at various levels to beef up protection of cultural relics and promote proper and moderate utilization of these relics so as to bring more benefits to the people.
