(KGTV) -- The Sweetwater Union High School District’s reopening plan for the 2020-21 was approved by its board Monday, with the school year set to begin Aug. 3 via distance learning.The district first announced its reopening plan during a meeting on July 23.From Aug. 3-Oct. 2, all classes will be virtual -- based on public health orders issued by the state.To start the year, while distance learning, students will be on a daily block schedule. Students will have three classes a day with 30-45 minutes of face time with their teacher and 45-60 minutes of class spent as independent study.Devices for distance learning will be available for all students. (AP) — Another person killed in the deadliest wildfire in California history has been identified.The Butte County Sheriff's office said Friday it positively identified the remains of 68-year-old Judith Sipher of Paradise.That brings the total number of named dead to 81. Three people whose remains were recovered after the wildfire are tentatively identified but have not yet been named by the sheriff's office. Two of the 86 victims remain unknown.The fire in November last year destroyed nearly 15,000 homes in Paradise and surrounding towns. In the aftermath of the catastrophe, authorities used DNA testing to identify bone fragments and other remains of the victims. We would rather chance down false leads all day long than have to follow up on a real lead after a tragedy."The Sweetwater district says they have one of most comprehensive training sessions in the county. (KGTV) — Police are searching for the person who shot several kids with a BB gun recently.Thursday just before 4 p.m., three children were walking home from school when they say they were shot with a BB gun by someone driving past them near Montevalle Park on Duncan Ranch Rd. The children didn't need medical attention, but they did have visible injuries, Chula Vista Police said.Two of the girls told 10News reporter Laura Acevedo that a white SUV pulled up next to them before they were shot."The windows went down, and they yelled cuss words at us, and then they just pulled out the BB gun and they shot us," Bella Budd told 10News."If they had hit us in the eye or anywhere else more dangerous, we could've been rushed to the ER or seriously hurt," Brianna Field added.Since that report, CVPD said two other people have also reported being shot with BB gun by an unknown suspect.A description of a vehicle or suspect wasn't immediately available.CVPD is investigating and says anyone with information is asked to call 619-691-5151. 1064
